POSITION OVERVIEW
The Business Systems Analyst at General Films is responsible for the design, integration, optimization, and day-to-day functional support of critical enterprise applications, including ERP, MES, CMMS, and Microsoft 365. The ideal candidate serves as the key liaison between business stakeholders and IT, translating operational needs into scalable, secure technology solutions that improve efficiency, data visibility, and process automation across the organization. The Business Systems Analyst is an onsite position reporting directly to the Director of Technology & Innovation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Maximize effectiveness of IT systems through deep understanding of business processes and technology capabilities
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, map workflows, and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Plan and manage software implementation enhancement projects and new feature rollouts
- Create functional specifications, architectures, and SOP documentation supporting usage and maintenance of IT systems
- Be a subject matter expert for ERP, MES, CMMS and MS365 platforms
- Design and maintain reports, dashboards, and SQL-based data queries
- Strengthen IT vendor relationships and coordinate external support resources
- Support MES expansion into production environments, including workflow design and user adoption
- Provide user training, refresher courses, and ongoing support to improve system adoption and utilization
- Ensure compliance with IT governance, security, and data integrity standards
- Support company-wide technology roadmap planning
- Monitor system performance, data integrity, and routine platform maintenance activities
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
- Technical certifications in relevant fields preferred
- Training or coursework in Six Sigma, or continuous improvement preferred
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of relevant technical or business work experience
- Proven ability in developing, administering, or implementing IT systems in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience creating process documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials, with proven success enabling technical and nontechnical users
- Strong experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across operations, quality, purchasing, sales, and finance
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) implementation or upgrade projects
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, including production, inventory, quality, scheduling, procurement, warehousing, and order fulfillment
- Strong SQL and database troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills, problem solving abilities, and high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities
- High degree of integrity, accountability, and sound judgment when working with sensitive data
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration skills
- Knowledge of industry best practices
