As part of an exciting phase of transformation and growth, we are seeking a commercially astute and strategic Chief Financial Officer to join the Executive Leadership Team.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the financial strategy of the Group. Working closely with the Board, shareholders and lenders, you will ensure robust financial control, clear reporting, disciplined cash management, and effective capital allocation. This role requires a highly credible finance leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational delivery in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the Group financial strategy
- Translate strategic priorities into financial targets, budgets and long-term plans
- Own budgeting, forecasting and the five-year planning process
- Drive value creation through margin improvement, cash generation and return on capital
- Provide clear financial leadership across the organisation
Board, Shareholder & Lender Engagement
- Deliver high-quality, concise and commercially focused Board reporting
- Present performance insights across trading, cash flow, debt and capital expenditure
- Manage lender reporting and funding obligations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial stakeholders
- Provide clear visibility on risks, opportunities and downside scenarios
Funding, Cash & Capital Management
- Oversee debt facilities, covenant compliance and funding strategy
- Lead cash flow forecasting, liquidity management and working capital optimisation
- Support refinancing or new funding processes as required
- Evaluate and prioritise capital expenditure based on strategic and financial returns
- Ensure post-investment reviews and disciplined capital allocation
Financial Control, Governance & Risk
- Maintain a robust financial control environment across the Group
- Ensure accurate and timely management and statutory reporting
- Oversee audit, tax, VAT, payroll and compliance obligations
- Manage external advisors and audit processes
- Strengthen governance, risk management and internal controls
Finance Function Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
- Enhance finance systems, processes and reporting capability
- Ensure finance is a visible and valued business partner to operations
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting, controls and data quality
Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Proven CFO or Finance Director experience within a mid-to-large, multi-site business
- Strong background in consumer-facing sectors
- Experience working with shareholders, lenders and complex funding structures
- Deep understanding of cash flow, debt, covenants and refinancing
- Track record of improving financial control, governance and reporting
- Strong commercial finance capability, beyond pure technical accounting
- Experience with M&A activity, including due diligence and integration
- Exposure to capex planning, investment appraisal and ROI analysis
- Experience leading finance system or ERP transformation initiatives
