We're not looking for a corporate CFO.
We're looking for someone who has been in the room when a brand is scaling fast, where the decisions are real, the stakes are high, and the margin for error shrinks as the numbers grow.
SWEATS is a premium Essential Wear brand built on product quality, community, and organic demand. We're worn by creators, athletes, & celebrities around the world without chasing them. Founded in 2020, we've grown from zero to $15M without losing what makes us different.
This year we're targeting $22M–$25M. The path beyond that is nine figures. We need someone who can help us get there without breaking the business on the way.
What We're Building
Our favourite reference is becoming the Apple of essential wear. Clean. Timeless. Community-led. & Front of mind when anybody thinks anything Essential Wear. We run drops, and have an active community amongst Instagram, Discord, and email, leading us to roughly have 70% of our revenue coming organically. Our gross margins sit at 60%–65%. Our AOV is ~$200. The fundamentals are strong, we just need the financial architecture to match the ambition. We're DTC first with global 3PLs across AU, UK, EU, and the US.
Where You Come In
We have a bookkeeper. We have reporting. What we don't have is complete confidence in our numbers, and at this stage of growth, that's the thing that can slow you down or take you out.
You'll work directly with the CEO and COO on the decisions that matter most:
- True profitability - cutting through to what we're actually making after every cost
- Paid media guardrails - defining how hard we can push spend without destroying contribution margin
- CAC and LTV clarity - so marketing decisions have a financial spine
- Cash flow forecasting - rolling visibility so inventory and hiring decisions aren't gut calls
- Inventory strategy - balancing stock commitments against cash position as we scale
- US expansion - helping us understand the financial implications before we're already in it.
In 6–12 months, success looks like: weekly financial visibility, no cash surprises, and a leadership team that makes growth decisions with confidence instead of hope.
What We Need From You
- Deep ecommerce / DTC experience - ideally $10M to $100M+ scaling environments
- You understand paid media economics. CAC, MER, contribution margin aren't just terms to you - you use them to make calls
- You've worked in high-growth, inventory-heavy businesses (apparel experience is a bonus, not a requirement)
- You're direct. You'll push back when something doesn't add up
- You move fast and think clearly - you don't need six weeks to build a model before sharing a view
- You're comfortable being part of a leadership team, not just reporting to one
If your background is Fortune 500 or agency side and you've never had skin in the game of a scaling brand, this probably isn't the right fit.
The Structure
Fractional to start - 1 to 3 days per week. As we scale toward $40M+, this becomes a full-time seat. We're not hiring a consultant. We're hiring the person who will eventually own this function.
