About the Company
A local County Clerk of Circuit Court is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead and oversee all financial operations of the organization. This is a high-impact executive role responsible for ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and long-term fiscal sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a key advisor on financial planning, budgeting, and fiscal policy
- Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and organizational performance
- Lead all accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and cash receipting
- Ensure strong internal controls, risk management practices, and efficient department operations
- Develop and manage annual budgets
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports in accordance with governmental standards
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Recommend updates to policies and procedures as laws evolve
- Directly supervise Accounting Department staff
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting, budgeting, and auditing standards
