CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER OPPORTUNITY AT CORDEVALLE
CordeValle seeks an accomplished, business-minded financial executive to serve as its first Chief Financial Officer. This is a newly created position and a unique opportunity to step into a high-profile role at one of Northern California's most distinguished private luxury properties, helping to shape the financial strategy, structure, and long-term enterprise value of a growing, multi-entity organization.
Reporting to the Group CEO, the CFO will be a strategic partner and trusted advisor, using their financial expertise, business judgment, and presence to help manage the enterprise in its full complexity. The CFO will provide forward-looking financial insights, disciplined fiscal stewardship, and confident guidance to the Group CEO, the executive leadership team, and ownership across hospitality, club operations, the winery, and the HOA. The successful candidate will combine deep technical and financial expertise with strong executive presence, exceptional presentation skills, and a highly collaborative, people-focused leadership style. This individual will help CordeValle maintain financial strength and operational excellence, and foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration that reflects the organization's commitment to being the best in everything it does.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER – POSITION OVERVIEW
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as the senior financial executive for CordeValle, a privately held, single-owner family of businesses, providing strategic leadership, financial stewardship, and operational guidance across all entities. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, the CFO partners closely with executive leadership to drive sustainable profitability, disciplined growth, and long-term enterprise value.
The CFO carries group-level responsibility for Accounting, Tax, Purchasing, Compliance, and IT, and serves as a key strategic partner to the Group CEO, General Manager of the Resort and Golf Club, Group Talent and Culture, and Group Sales and Marketing leadership. The role supports enterprise growth initiatives, capital investment strategy, and comprehensive risk management across the organization.
Beyond financial oversight, the CFO is a cultural steward of the organization. This executive is expected to actively embody and champion the company's core values, setting the tone for integrity, accountability, collaboration, and excellence. Through leadership presence and decision-making, the CFO reinforces a culture of transparency, ethical governance, and shared ownership of results across all departments.
The CFO exercises independent judgment and discretion on matters of financial and organizational significance, consistent with the exempt executive classification under California law, and aligns financial strategy with the company's mission, values, and long-term vision.
THE CORDEVALLE CULTURE AND WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
CordeValle is a high-energy, high-performing organization with a clear and unifying philosophy: be the best. The culture is collaborative, fast-moving, and entrepreneurial. Team members support one another, take ownership of outcomes, and stay on their toes. Titles carry little weight; contribution, expertise, and the willingness to roll up sleeves carry everything.
The Group CEO is a visible, hands-on leader who is highly strategic, innovation-minded, and energized by people who bring ideas, expertise, and a healthy competitive edge to the table. He values authentic professionals who challenge thinking, share strong opinions, and help raise the bar for the entire team. He believes in continued learning, in pairing different leadership perspectives so everyone is sharpened by one another, and in saying, “Why not?” to new ideas that push the business forward in the right way.
What CordeValle is looking for in a CFO is a true strategic partner. Not a yes-person. Not a back-office accountant. A confident, polished financial executive who can keep pace with an extraordinarily driven Group CEO, hold a thoughtful counterpoint when the moment calls for it, and bring discipline and structure without slowing the organization down. The right person will be flexible, resourceful, and energized by a place that is growing, always reaching for the next great step, and committed to doing it right.
