TITLE: Interim CFO
COMPENSATION: $130-$160/hour
LOCATION: Baton Rouge, LA (Hybrid – minimum 2-3 days onsite weekly)
Travel will be taken care of but needs to ideally be from somewhere with a direct flight into Baton Rouge - Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Charlotte. Or a quick flight into New Orleans (an hour to hour and a half) and then its an hour and a half drive to Baton Rouge)

A private equity-backed branded consumer products/manufacturing organization is seeking an Interim CFO. The company operates within a manufacturing and consumer products environment and has established distribution channels, recognizable products, and a growing national footprint. Leadership is looking for a hands-on finance executive who can provide stability, support ongoing operations, and partner closely with executive leadership while longer-term organizational decisions are evaluated
Purpose Of Your Position
This interim finance leader will serve as the senior financial executive during a leadership transition. The individual will oversee finance and accounting operations, support executive decision-making, maintain continuity across reporting and cash flow management, and provide guidance to the existing finance team. This is a highly hands-on role requiring someone comfortable operating within a practical, mid-market environment while balancing strategic priorities and day-to-day execution.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide executive-level financial leadership and operational support during a transition period.
- Maintain continuity across accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, liquidity management, and business planning activities.
- Partner with executive leadership and ownership stakeholders on financial performance, business initiatives, and reporting requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and support the existing accounting and finance organization while ensuring day-to-day operations continue without disruption.
- Oversee cash management processes, forecasting models, and working capital planning activities.
- Review financial reporting processes and ensure timely delivery of internal and external reporting packages.
- Assess current finance processes, reporting structures, systems utilization, and organizational effectiveness while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Support sponsor and lender reporting requirements, board-level reporting, and ad hoc financial analyses.
- Develop enhanced visibility into business performance across customers, products, channels, and operating segments.
- Operate comfortably in a detail-oriented environment that relies heavily on spreadsheet-based analysis and reporting tools.
Requirements:
- Prior experience serving as a CFO, VP Finance, VP Finance & Accounting, or equivalent senior finance leader.
- Background supporting finance and accounting functions within a manufacturing, consumer products, food, beverage, or related operating environment.
- Strong foundation across financial reporting, accounting, cash flow management, forecasting, and business partnership activities.
- Demonstrated ability to step into transition situations and provide immediate leadership and stability.
- Hands-on management style with willingness to work within operational details.
- Experience leading and developing accounting and finance teams.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities.
- Ability to balance strategic leadership responsibilities with day-to-day execution.
- Ability to be onsite in Baton Rouge multiple days each week.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Private equity-backed company experience.
- Consumer products, food manufacturing, or branded products industry experience.
- Experience evaluating profitability across products, customers, channels, or business segments.
- ERP experience within large-scale enterprise systems environments.
- Ability to spend additional time onsite beyond the minimum requirement
