As an IT Business Applications Specialist, you take hands-on ownership of our business applications, ensuring reliable performance, correct configuration, and continuous improvement across our international environment. You configure applications, manage integrations and environments, support users, solve complex technical issues, and implement long term structural improvements. You are the link between IT and the business and your work has a direct impact on the digital future of our company.
ROMCO Equipment Co., this role reports directly to the Technical Excellence Center (TEC) leadership within our parent company, SMT, with direct engagement in high‑level projects and input into broader organizational decision‑making. As part of SMT TEC, you support the digital transformation by helping design, enhance, and maintain the business applications that
power our operations.
What will you do?
In this role, you are responsible for optimizing, supporting, and further developing our business applications landscape.
You will:
- Configure and optimize Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform applications based on business needs
- Design, execute, and monitor technical tests including configuration validation, integration tests, and release deployments
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues and performance problems
- Ensure data integrity, compliance, and secure application usage
- Create and maintain technical documentation, release notes, security configurations, and user guidance where needed
- Identify and correct software defects, working on structural long-term improvements
- Support local internal users and provide training where needed
- Monitor and optimize database performance
- Explore new technologies and assess their potential impact on the business
- Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams across the organization
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor
What do you bring?
You have:
- A relevant bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in application management or business application support
- A strong understanding of how business processes, technical systems, and data structures relate to one another, enabling you to interpret and translate requirements effectively
- Experience with modern business applications, ideally within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ecosystem (ERP, CRM, CPQ, Power Platform, DevOps, Fabric)
- Strong analytical skills in troubleshooting, testing, quality assurance, and data management
- Experience with application management, including system configuration, integrations, application performance monitoring, workflow analysis, process documentation, and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to bridge business and IT
- A proactive, solution‑oriented mindset
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Azure Fundamentals, Power Platform, ITIL) are strongly preferred

Working Conditions and Additional Requirements
This job operates in an office environment. Must be available to work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple European countries. While standard local office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., this role requires flexibility to participate in meetings, trainings, and project work outside of standard business hours to accommodate regional time zone differences. Some travel may be required. This position requires regular use of computers, communication devices, and other common office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
