Confidential Executive Search: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: US/Mexico Border Region (El Paso, Texas-based / Cross-Border Footprint)

About the Opportunity:
We are a highly complex, fast-paced B2B by-products management and reverse logistics firm servicing major manufacturers and industrial sources across the US and Mexico. We are driven by a singular operational goal: to be the absolute most efficient operator in our space in North America.
We are currently conducting a confidential search for an operationally-minded Chief Financial Officer (CFO). We are not looking for a traditional historical reporter; we are looking for a strategic business partner who uses data to increase velocity, manage inventory market risk, and drive extreme efficiency across our international footprint.
As our CFO, you will work hand-in-hand with executive leadership to master our Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC), optimize cross-border supply chains, and leverage our strong balance sheet to fuel aggressive growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Operational Partnership
● Provide strategic financial guidance and recommendations to the President, CEO, and executive team.
● Partner directly with plant and operations leadership to continuously monitor and drive down cost-per-unit metrics while maintaining disciplined purchase and sales operations.
● Lead the FP&A process, including budgeting, forecasting, and evaluating growth strategies such as greenfield development and M&A assimilation.
● Display a strong curiosity and proactive interest in leveraging AI tools and workflow automation to drive efficiency gains.
Working Capital & Treasury
● Master the Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC) within a cross-border environment.
● Aggressively manage Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO), utilizing throughput and inventory velocity as primary hedges against commodity market volatility.
● Manage the company's cash flow and working capital, leveraging our strong balance sheet to fuel growth.
● Establish strong internal controls and manage relationships with external auditors and commercial banks.
International Operations (US / Mexico)
● Serve as the executive financial expert on IMMEX compliance and IVA (Value Added Tax) recovery, ensuring cross-border supply chains do not trap working capital.
● Manage the financial operations of our Mexican subsidiaries and shelter companies, ensuring compliance with local regulatory and reporting requirements.
● Navigate the complexities of cross-border financial transactions, dual-currency exchange, and transfer pricing.
Team Leadership & Risk Management
● Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team, establishing clear succession and growth paths.
● Foster a culture of accountability by establishing transparent KPI dashboards for financial and non-financial managers.
● Identify and mitigate financial risks related to commodity price fluctuations.
The Ideal Candidate Profile:
● Experience: Minimum 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience. (Note: We are highly receptive to hungry candidates currently serving as a VP of Finance, Corporate Controller, or Regional Finance Director at a larger organization who are proven and fully ready to step into the CFO seat).
● Industry Fit: A background in high-volume manufacturing (Tier 1/Tier 2 Automotive), contract manufacturing, or complex cross-border logistics is highly preferred.
● Operational Mindset: Demonstrated ability to act as a true business partner to plant operations, with a proven track record of optimizing working capital and managing variable/fixed overhead.
● Cross-Border Expertise: Deep operational understanding of Maquiladora/IMMEX structures, IVA recovery, and dual-currency environments is required.
● Language: Bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish is highly preferred.
