AM4P
Advanced Materials for Power
Powering the Clean Energy Revolution - From the Ground Up
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / VP of Finance
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.-based) | Type: Full-Time | Stage: Pre-Revenue / Series A
About AM4P
AM4P (Advanced Materials for Power) is a vertically integrated clean materials platform engineering the foundational inputs that make clean energy possible. Founded in 2026 and anchored in Kentucky, AM4P designs, manufactures, and delivers bio-based advanced materials across the clean energy supply chain, owning every step from agricultural feedstock to finished product. Our core platform converts whole-plant industrial hemp into D4/D5 RIN-eligible biodiesel, food-grade seed meal, industrial fiber composites, hempcrete, biogas, and pharmaceutical-grade glycerin.
We are pre-revenue, in formation, and targeting a $35-50M Series A. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help build one of the most consequential materials companies of the clean energy transition.
The Opportunity
As our first CFO / VP of Finance, you are not inheriting a finance function, you are building it. This role sits at the center of everything: closing our Series A, structuring the capital deployment plan, and establishing the financial architecture that will support AM4P as it scales from formation to full operations. You will report directly to the Founder and CEO and work closely with legal, operations, and scientific leadership.
The right person for this role is energized by complexity, comfortable with ambiguity, and genuinely motivated by what AM4P is trying to build. You should have a track record of raising institutional capital and building financial infrastructure from scratch at early-stage companies.
What You Will Own
- Series A Capital Raise: Lead financial due diligence, build and maintain the investor data room, model capital deployment scenarios, and serve as a credible financial voice to institutional investors and family offices.
- Financial Modeling: Own the company's long-range financial model including farm-level unit economics, processing facility pro forma, RIN revenue forecasting, IRA clean fuel production credit modeling, and multi-revenue stream projections across all product lines.
- Investor Relations: Support ongoing investor communication, reporting cadences, and board-level financial presentations from Series A close through Series B preparation.
- Budget and Cash Management: Establish and manage operating budgets, cash flow planning, and treasury functions. Prioritize spend against the capital deployment roadmap.
- Regulatory Revenue Tracking: Develop and maintain models for D4/D5 RIN generation, IRA Section 45Z clean fuel production credits, and USDA program eligibility. Work with legal and compliance to ensure accurate documentation.
- Banking and Financing Relationships: Establish relationships with agricultural lenders, USDA Farm Service Agency programs, equipment financing sources, and project finance partners as the business scales.
- Financial Controls and Reporting: Build the accounting infrastructure, internal controls, and reporting systems appropriate for a Series A-stage company with future audit readiness in mind.
- Strategic Financial Counsel: Serve as a thought partner to the CEO on capital allocation, strategic partnerships, offtake agreement structures, and future financing pathways including Series B and project-level debt.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive finance experience, including meaningful time at early-stage or growth-stage companies
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading an institutional capital raise (Series A or equivalent)
- Expert-level financial modeling skills: three-statement models, scenario analysis, and unit economics
- Experience building finance infrastructure from scratch (accounting systems, controls, reporting)
- Deep comfort with ambiguity, fast-moving priorities, and a lean team environment
- U.S.-based with the ability to work across time zones and travel to Kentucky as needed
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex financial narratives for investors, partners, and board members
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in agtech, cleantech, biofuels, biorefinery, or advanced materials
- Familiarity with EPA Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and RIN accounting
- Understanding of IRA clean energy tax credits, including Section 45Z
- Experience with USDA lending programs, FSA guarantees, or agricultural project finance
- CPA, CFA, or MBA from an accredited institution
- Prior experience as CFO or VP Finance at a company that reached Series B or beyond
Why AM4P
This is a rare opportunity to join a company at the exact moment when the foundational decisions, financial, strategic, and operational, are being made. AM4P is not a lifestyle business and not a science experiment. It is an industrial platform designed to matter at scale, built in a state with the agricultural infrastructure, regulatory maturity, and manufacturing proximity to make it real.
- Founding-team-level equity and direct access to the CEO
- Fully remote with flexibility to define how and where you do your best work
- A mission that compounds: every dollar of revenue is tied directly to the clean energy transition
- The chance to build a finance function the right way, from the ground up
