Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Compensation: Starting at $150,000, additional consideration for well qualified candidates, DOE.
Covenant House Alaska is seeking a strategic, mission-driven Chief Financial Officer to join our executive leadership team and help guide the organization's next chapter of growth, innovation, and impact.
As Alaska's largest provider of shelter, housing, and supportive services for youth experiencing homelessness, Covenant House Alaska serves approximately, 1,000 young people each year. We are looking for a financial leader who is energized by both mission and challenge—someone who can strengthen financial operations, guide organizational strategy, and help build the future of our finance function.

What You'll Do
- Serve as strategic financial advisor to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board
- Lead all accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, audit, and financial reporting functions
- Guide the successful implementation and optimization of NetSuite
- Develop multi-year financial plans, forecasting models, and sustainability strategies
- Oversee grant compliance, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements
- Strengthen internal controls, policies, and financial processes
- Manage investments, reserves, cash flow, and organizational assets
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team
- Present financial performance, opportunities, and risks to executive leadership and the Board
- Drive continuous improvement through financial systems, analytics, and reporting tools
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Experience leading accounting and finance operations at an executive level
- Strong financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis capabilities
- Experience working directly with Boards of Directors and executive leadership teams
- Experience overseeing audits, compliance, and organizational financial reporting
- Demonstrated experience identifying, securing, administering, and reporting on grants from federal, state, local, foundation, and private funding sources, including ensuring compliance with grant requirements, performance metrics, budgeting, and reporting obligations.
- NetSuite experience

- CPA designation
- Nonprofit leadership experience
- Grant management and compliance experience
- Experience leading ERP implementations, particularly NetSuite
- Experience building or restructuring finance teams
- Ability to successfully lead through periods of change and growth
