Overview For CFO
A rapidly growing, acquisition-focused mechanical services organization is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. This individual will play a critical role in driving financial strategy, operational excellence, and long-term growth initiatives as the company continues to expand through acquisition and organic growth.
The CFO will serve as a key business partner to executive leadership, helping guide strategic decision-making, improve financial processes, integrate acquisitions, and develop scalable systems to support future growth. This is an opportunity for a hands-on leader who can balance high-level strategy with operational execution.
Responsibilities Of CFO
Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Lead the overall finance and accounting functions for the organization.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Review financial statements, journal entries, variance analyses, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting packages for executive leadership.
- Manage cash flow, forecasting, working capital, and overall financial performance.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
Strategic Planning & Business Partnership
- Partner with executive leadership on growth initiatives, pricing strategies, and market expansion opportunities.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations that drive profitability and operational efficiency.
- Participate as a key member of the executive leadership team, helping shape the organization's long-term vision and strategy.
- Develop KPIs and reporting tools that support data-driven decision-making.
Mergers & Acquisitions
- Support acquisition strategy, including financial due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition optimization.
- Assist with the evaluation of acquisition opportunities and financial modeling.
- Lead financial integration efforts as new businesses are added to the organization.
Process Improvement & Technology
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and accounting functions.
- Lead ERP implementation and system enhancement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI, and technology to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Evaluate current financial processes and implement best practices to support future growth.
Leadership & Team Development
- Mentor and develop accounting and finance team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Build organizational capabilities to support rapid growth and increasing complexity.
Qualifications
Required
- Previous CFO, VP of Finance, or senior finance leadership experience.
- Strong background in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Experience supporting or leading mergers and acquisitions activities.
- Proven ability to operate as a strategic business partner to executive leadership.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Preferred
- CPA designation.
- Experience within HVAC, mechanical services, construction, field services, or related industries.
- Experience in private equity-backed or acquisition-focused organizations.
- ERP implementation experience.
- Experience leveraging AI, automation, and technology to improve finance operations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: Approximately $210,000
