Opening: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Anchorage, AK
Pay: $150k-$170k DOE + Excellent Benefits

Opti Staffing Group is partnering with a respected nonprofit organization in Anchorage seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive leadership team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and forward-thinking financial leader who wants to make a meaningful impact. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will oversee all financial operations of the organization while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in financial leadership, nonprofit accounting, strategic planning, and risk management, along with the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and collaborative manner.
What You'll Be Doing
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a key advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors
- Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis
- Develop financial strategies that support the organization's mission and long-term sustainability
- Evaluate financial performance, identify risks, and recommend solutions
Financial Operations
- Oversee all accounting and finance functions, including:
- General ledger
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Payroll coordination
- Month-end and year-end close
- Develop and manage operating and capital budgets
- Produce timely financial statements and reports
- Manage cash flow, investments, and organizational reserves
- Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and financial procedures
Grants, Compliance & Audits
- Oversee financial aspects of grants, including budgeting, tracking, reporting, and compliance
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Lead the annual audit process and oversee preparation of IRS Form 990
- Manage regulatory reporting and financial filings
Board & Executive Collaboration
- Present financial reports and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors and Finance Committee
- Communicate financial risks, opportunities, and long-term strategies in a clear and actionable way
- Support executive leadership with data-driven decision making
Continuous Improvement
- Lead initiatives to strengthen financial systems, reporting, and organizational efficiency
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility and decision making
- Foster a culture of financial accountability and transparency across the organization
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressively responsible accounting and financial management experience
- Significant senior leadership experience overseeing complex financial operations
- Strong knowledge of:
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Financial planning and forecasting
- Budgeting and cash flow management
- Audits and regulatory compliance
- Grants management and reporting
- Experience presenting to Boards of Directors and executive leadership teams
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or equivalent professional certification
- Experience in nonprofit financial management
- Experience managing investments, reserves, and capital projects
