SUMMARY

· Responsible for managing, developing and enhancing the internal organization processes and infrastructure of AGE of Central Texas.

· Financial Management and oversight

· Human Resource functions

· Operations and Administration in support of program delivery

ESSENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management and Oversight

Ensure accurate and timely posting, verifying, and reconciling of accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, payroll, or other accounts.
Prepare, analyze and present reports of business financial operations to the Executive Director, the Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors.
Manage all aspects of the payroll function, working with a third-party provider to ensure accurate payroll to employees and compliance with federal and state laws.
Assist the Development Department with grant compliance in the expenditure of funds and in reports to the funders; and in the development of budgets and other financial data required for grant applications.
Execute activities that prepare AGE financials for annual independent audit and 990-tax filing.
Plan, coordinate and execute the annual agency budget process, with program and executive director input.
Make recommendations to improve finance and accounting systems, practices, policies and procedures.

Human Resources

Manage, develop systems and oversee the human resource functions of AGE, including:

· Staff recruitment, hiring and compensation.

· Oversee benefits administration.

· Ensure regulatory oversight and legal compliance with Human Resource laws and regulations.

· Maintain accurate, organized human resource files, in compliance with state and federal regulations.

· Stay current with best practices and trends of the human resource functions, and ensure the senior management level is informed and up to date.

Operations and Administration

Oversee risk management and legal activities: letters of agreement, contracts, leases, and other legal documents and agreements.
Ensure regulatory compliance with state and federal requirements for not-for-profit businesses.
Procure, monitor and manage the pricing, implementation, and compliance with insurance for the organization.
Manage the agency’s Information Technology systems by serving as the liaison to IT system vendors.
Oversee development and implementation of staff training on topics related to risk management.
Assist the VP of Thrive Center Operations with compliance with all state and federal contracts for agency’s two licensed adult day health services programs and facilities.

Assisting with vendor and tenant relations

Other duties as assigned in support of the programs and operations of AGE Office

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university. Minimum three (3) years’ experience in working with nonprofit organization as a Controller or CFO.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; stoop, kneel, or crawl.

SKILLS and ABILITIES

Excellent management skills are essential. Must have demonstrated ability to plan, organize, staff, delegate, motivate, monitor and achieve results. Communication skills, especially in public speaking and writing, are necessary. Working knowledge of personal computers. The ability to handle a multitude of tasks and challenges is necessary. The ability to work a flexible schedule that involves evening and weekend hours is necessary. Knowledge of accounting and budget preparation is required.

HOURS OF WORK

This is a salaried exempt position of 40+ hours per week.
