About the Role
Access Health Care Physicians, LLC is a healthcare organization seeking an experienced and highly knowledgeable Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. The CFO will oversee all financial operations, guide strategic financial planning, and ensure the organization’s fiscal health. This role is critical to supporting our mission of delivering high‑quality patient care through strong financial stewardship.
General Summary of Duties
The CFO will collaborate with the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership on all financial and operational activities, including financial projections, reporting, budgeting, cash management strategies, policy development, and implementation of accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Hire, train, and conduct disciplinary reviews for departmental personnel.
- Manage and evaluate staff performance to ensure high-quality service and technical expertise.
- Oversee all financial reporting activities and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
- Develop and present standard financial data sets to senior leadership and the Board.
- Prepare financial forecasts, business activity summaries, and organizational performance reports.
- Provide timely financial status updates to Board members.
- Prepare and review monthly Risk Revenue accrual documentation.
- Review monthly journal entries, key indicator reports, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Approve daily accounts payable and treasury transactions.
- Prepare monthly Balance Sheet Review Guide and coordinate monthly reporting.
- Complete semi‑annual Internal Control Checklists and communicate audit risk alerts.
- Develop annual operating budgets and performance projections.
- Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities.
- Review cash flow statements and prepare quarterly cash distribution recommendations.
- Assist with internal and external audits and implement auditor recommendations.
- Ensure all processing and reporting deadlines are met.
- Compile Board meeting documents and record meeting minutes.
- Respond to information requests from leadership, auditors, and management.
- Support development and implementation of accounting standards.
- Facilitate third‑party billing and coding compliance reviews.
- Serve as Delegated/Authorized Official with CMS for medical groups.
- Coordinate with legal counsel on audits and litigation matters.
- Work with insurance brokers to maintain proper coverage.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold organizational values.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, systems, and processes
- Expertise in financial analysis and reporting
- Familiarity with value‑based payment models (Medicare Advantage, ACO)
- Knowledge of banking and cash management solutions
- Understanding of insurance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong judgment, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent leadership and organizational abilities
- Ability to interpret federal and state regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Education
- Master’s degree in Accounting or a related business field (Required)
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
- Preferred: 5 years in a healthcare or physician practice environment
Preferred Certifications
(Strongly preferred)
- CPA – Certified Public Accountant
- CMA – Certified Management Accountant
- CHFP – Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (highly valuable in healthcare finance)
- FHFMA – Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
Primarily sedentary office work with frequent computer and phone use. Occasional bending or stretching may be required. Extended hours, including evenings or weekends, may be necessary to meet deadlines. Fast‑paced environment with high workload demands.
Pay: From $200,000.00 per year
