Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota (Extensive Travel Required – Approximately 50%)

Our client is a leading provider of telecom services with approximately $500+ million in annual revenue. The business has established a strong market position, and is entering its next phase of strategic growth through both organic expansion and acquisitions. This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to partner with an experienced executive team and help lead the organization through continued growth and an eventual liquidity event.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer will serve as a key strategic partner responsible for leading all financial operations while helping shape the company's long-term growth strategy.
This role requires a collaborative, business-minded executive who can build strong relationships across the organization, influence operational decision-making, and serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to develop and execute the company's strategic growth initiatives.
- Lead all aspects of finance, accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, financial reporting, and financial controls.
- Provide financial leadership for both organic growth initiatives and future acquisitions, including due diligence, integration, and capital allocation.
- Drive EBITDA improvement, operational efficiencies, and scalable financial processes.
- Deliver meaningful financial analysis and KPI reporting to support executive decision-making.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and cash flow management.
- Build and maintain relationships with lenders, auditors, advisors, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure a strong internal control environment and compliance with all financial reporting requirements.
- Mentor and develop an established finance leadership team while promoting a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Help prepare the organization for a future transaction or exit event.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Chief Financial Officer or senior finance executive within the broadband, telecommunications infrastructure, utility construction, or related construction services industry.
- Deep understanding of broadband network installation, infrastructure services, construction contracting, or field services businesses.
- Experience leading finance organizations within companies generating approximately $300 million to $1 billion+ in annual revenue.
- Demonstrated success supporting high-growth organizations, including acquisition integration and operational scaling.
- Strong strategic planning, financial modeling, and operational finance experience.
- Proven ability to build strong partnerships with executive leadership and influence business strategy.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Experience leading organizations through a successful sale or liquidity event.
- Prior private equity-backed company experience is preferred.
Travel
This position requires approximately 50% travel. The executive leadership team operates from multiple locations across the United States, and regular travel to corporate offices and operating locations will be expected.
