About the company
Our client is a Seed-stage AI company building the operating system for procurement in the $12 trillion consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. Today, ingredient and packaging sourcing still runs on inboxes, PDFs, and spreadsheets: slow, opaque, and expensive. Their AI-powered platform replaces that chaos with structure, visibility, and leverage, without forcing suppliers into clunky portals. The company is led by a repeat founder who previously built a category-defining company in consumer and CPG, and it is backed by a roster of tier-one seed investors. This is not a pre-product bet: they already have paying customers and real usage, and one customer saved over $200,000 in the first three months, paying for their annual contract within the first 30 days.
The role
This is the CEO's operational right hand. You will take weight off the founder's plate across customer success, sales operations, recruiting, and internal systems so he can focus on closing deals and scaling the company. It is a rare pre-MBA seat with a direct path to Head of Operations or RevOps as the company grows.
What you'll do
- Run weekly customer check-ins and triage customer issues across product and engineering
- Own CRM hygiene, pipeline reporting, and prospect briefings and demo materials for active deals
- Manage the recruiting pipeline: sourcing candidates, scheduling, and running first screens for non-executive roles
- Coordinate BDR standups, review outbound sequences, and flag coaching opportunities to the CEO
- Build internal automations and AI-powered workflows that eliminate manual, repetitive work across the company
What we're looking for
- 1.5 or more years at an MBB firm (McKinsey, Bain, or BCG) or top-tier investment banking (required)
- Startup or operator experience after consulting or banking (Chief of Staff, founder, or early-stage operator roles strongly preferred)
- A pre-MBA profile who thrives in ambiguous, resource-constrained environments (generally under 8 years of total experience)
- AI-native: you actively use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Zapier to automate and accelerate your work
- Comfortable with APIs, light scripting (Python or SQL), or no-code automation tools
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area, and able to work on-site 5 days a week in Redwood City
Bonus points
- B2B SaaS, supply chain, or CPG industry exposure
- A track record of building internal automations that saved a team meaningful time
Compensation and benefits
- $160K to $180K base, plus competitive equity
- Full health, dental, and vision coverage
- Unlimited vacation
Location and work model
- On-site 5 days a week in Redwood City, CA
- H-1B transfers considered; new H-1B sponsorship is not available
