The Business Operations Manager serves as the operational backbone of the Founder's Office, driving business visibility, operational excellence, financial discipline, and cross-functional execution across the organisation.
This role owns the systems that enable better decision-making—from business reporting and MIS to financial planning, operational reviews, process optimisation, procurement, governance, and organisation-wide initiatives. Working closely with founders and leadership, you will build the frameworks, dashboards, and operating mechanisms that ensure the business runs with clarity, accountability, and efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence & Process Management
Design and implement scalable systems that improve operational efficiency, governance, and execution quality across the organisation. Continuously identify opportunities to simplify processes while maintaining high standards of operational discipline.
- Develop, implement, and audit SOPs across departments.
- Design workflows that improve operational consistency and cross-functional execution.
- Document business processes and establish repeatable operating mechanisms.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
- Build scalable systems that improve organisational efficiency and accountability.
- Business Reporting & Performance Management
- Own the business reporting cadence across operations by building structured dashboards, performance trackers, and leadership reports that provide complete visibility into operational priorities and overall performance.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly MIS reports for founders
- Support leadership reviews with accurate reporting, analysis, and actionable insights.
- Build reporting frameworks that improve visibility and strengthen business decision-making.
- Administration, Procurement & Governance
- Oversee the operational backbone of the organisation by managing procurement, vendor relationships, administration, governance processes, and organisational compliance while ensuring cost efficiency and operational reliability.
- Coordinate invoices, payments, vendor reviews, and procurement documentation.
- Oversee office administration, infrastructure, assets, and workplace operations.
- Drive cost optimisation across procurement, travel, vendors, and operational expenditure.
- Support governance reviews, compliance tracking, and leadership reporting.
- Cross-Functional Execution & Founder Office Initiatives
- Partner closely with founders to drive organisation-wide initiatives requiring structured execution, operational coordination, and business ownership. Act as the central point of coordination across strategic projects while ensuring alignment between teams and leadership.
- Drive cross-functional projects involving multiple business functions and stakeholders.
- Track project timelines, dependencies, risks, and execution milestones.
- Support the CEO Office initiatives, business expansion projects, and organisational transformation programs.
- Coordinate resource planning, capacity planning, and organisational effectiveness initiatives.
- Ensure strategic priorities move from planning to execution with complete visibility and accountability.
Professional Traits
- 4–6 years of experience in business operations, strategy, finance, consulting, business excellence, program management, or a similar cross-functional role, preferably within startups, media, technology, or high-growth organizations.
- Proven experience building business reporting systems, MIS dashboards, KPI frameworks, and operational reviews that enable leadership to make informed decisions.
- Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, profitability analysis, cost management, procurement, and business performance reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to design SOPs, improve workflows, standardize processes, and build scalable operational systems across multiple business functions.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work closely with founders, leadership teams, vendors, and cross-functional departments while driving alignment and accountability.
- Strong analytical mindset with exceptional proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, business reporting, data analysis, and translating operational data into actionable business insights.
- Highly organised with a natural inclination towards systems thinking, documentation, governance, and operational excellence, ensuring consistency across the organisation.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments where priorities evolve rapidly and operational challenges require structured problem-solving and sound judgment.
- Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, Asana, Notion, and modern business productivity tools, with the ability to quickly adapt to new operational systems and technologies.
