We are supporting a confidential New York-based strategic professional services organization in its search for an Interim Chief Financial Officer. This role will partner closely with executive leadership to provide financial leadership, operational discipline, and enhanced visibility across a complex, client-services business.
The Interim CFO will be responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting function, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, KPI development, and leadership reporting. This person will help bring structure and clarity to the financial operating model while supporting the organization through a period of transition and continued growth.
The ideal consultant will bring experience in professional services or other people-based/client-services environments. Prior experience with project-based revenue, utilization, profitability by client or service line, workforce planning, and executive-level reporting is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead finance and accounting operations during the interim period
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial reporting
- Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy, business performance, and operating priorities
- Build or refine KPIs, dashboards, and reporting around revenue, margin, utilization, headcount, and client profitability
- Assess current financial processes, controls, systems, and reporting cadence
- Provide visibility into business performance across clients, service lines, teams, and geographies
- Support board, investor, or senior leadership reporting as needed
- Help strengthen the finance function and create scalable processes for continued growth
