The models work - the execution doesn't. Banks, insurers and asset managers are sitting on AI spend that hasn't converted into outcomes, and the firms that can bridge that gap are the ones winning the next wave of enterprise budgets.
We're working with a great AI start-up sitting exactly in that gap. They build AI & data solutions for financial services enterprises - deep technical capability, genuine FS domain expertise, proven use cases, an ecosystem of third-party data integrations, and an experienced consulting team that turns AI investment into measurable value.
They're now hiring their first commercial leader.
The role
This is a founding hire. You will design, build and execute the go-to-market from a blank page - commercial motion, pipeline, market presence, process. You'll be selling directly while you build the machine behind you.
You will:
- Own GTM strategy end to end: target segments, value propositions, pricing approach, channel strategy
- Lead demand generation and sales - direct engagement with senior buyers, enterprise stakeholders and partners, building predictable pipeline
- Create the sales materials, case studies and client-facing collateral that translate technical capability into business outcomes
- Stand up scalable sales process: CRM discipline, forecasting, commercial metrics and reporting
- Work closely with product, delivery and consulting to align offerings, sharpen use cases and make sure clients realise value
- Build partner relationships and alliances that extend reach and accelerate deal flow
- Hire and mentor the first commercial team members as the business scales
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences and client meetings
What we need to see
- A proven track record in senior GTM, sales leadership or business development, ideally AI, data platforms or enterprise software sold into financial services
- Experience designing and executing GTM for new products or early-stage businesses
- Strong direct sales experience into C-suite and senior enterprise stakeholders
- The ability to translate technical capability into commercial value and ROI for FS clients
- Experience building sales process from scratch: CRM, pipeline forecasting, commercial operations
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Comfort operating hands-on in a fast-paced start-up - you'll be doing the work, not just directing it

Compensation
$110,000 - $170,000 base
$220,000 - $340,000 OTE
