REPORTS TO: President & CEO
DIRECT REPORTS: Finance/Accounting Staff (as team grows)
DOTTED LINE: Director of Business Administration (functional financial oversight by CFO)
WORK ARRANGEMENT: Hybrid — minimum 3 days per week required in office (after 30 days)
About this Opportunity:
Crossroads is seeking a mission-driven, hands-on CFO to join its Executive Leadership Team at a pivotal moment of organizational growth and transformation. This role is intentionally designed for a seasoned Controller, Accounting Manager, or nonprofit finance professional who is ready to take the next step into executive leadership.
The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution — someone who can build sound financial infrastructure while remaining actively engaged in day-to-day operations. With a dotted-line relationship to the Director of Business Administration as the primary administrative support, the CFO will be deeply operational and hands-on in this season, with the expectation that the role grows into broader executive scope as the team expands.
This is a builder’s role, not a purely supervisory one. The right candidate will be comfortable owning accounting operations, creating systems, working independently in a lean environment, and growing into broader executive responsibilities over time. If you are energized by the idea of building something and by the knowledge that every dollar you steward serves a family, this role was designed for you.
About Crossroads Community Services:
Crossroads is one of North Texas’ leading nonprofits addressing food insecurity, nutrition access, and household stability. Through community markets, partner distribution networks, Food as Medicine initiatives, and neighborhood-based partnerships, Crossroads serves thousands of families annually across Southern Dallas and surrounding communities.
Under its newly launched strategic framework, Access 2031: Catalyst for Change, Crossroads is evolving into a broader systems-change organization building nutrition-stable communities where access to nourishing food advances health and stability across generations. In 2025, Crossroads distributed over 16 million pounds of food, the equivalent of more than 13 million meals, to families in need.
Position Purpose:
The CFO provides executive-level oversight of Crossroads’ financial health, integrity, and strategy. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO is responsible for all financial management functions — from day-to-day accounting operations to long-range financial planning — and serves as the primary financial advisor to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors.
The CFO works in close partnership with the VP of Operations, who manages the Director of Business Administration. While the Director of Business Administration reports directly to the VP, the CFO maintains a dotted-line functional relationship to ensure that payroll, bill payment, vendor compliance, and budget execution are carried out with accuracy and in accordance with organizational policy.

- Deep alignment with Crossroads’ mission, values, and People First culture
WORK ARRANGEMENT & CONDITIONS

This position will be in a climate-controlled office and may require lifting of 50 pounds, ability to operate manual equipment, and/or stand for long periods of time in support of program efforts or events.
