Are you a commercially minded CFO who thrives in high-growth startup environments?
We're partnering with an exciting venture-backed AI technology startup that's transforming the way consumers manage their finances, contracts and everyday administration through intelligent automation.
As the business enters its next phase of growth, we're looking for an experienced Fractional Chief Financial Officer to work directly alongside the CEO and leadership team, helping shape strategy, support fundraising and prepare the business for long-term growth and a future exit.
The Opportunity
This is a true strategic finance leadership role—but with the flexibility of a fractional engagement.
You'll typically work 6–8 days per month, although the workload will flex depending on business priorities. Some weeks may require only a few hours of input, while others may involve more intensive support around fundraising, board meetings or strategic initiatives.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys partnering with founders, solving commercial challenges and helping scale innovative businesses without committing to a traditional full-time executive position.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead financial strategy, forecasting and long-term planning.
- Build sophisticated financial models and scenario analyses.
- Partner with the CEO on commercial strategy and business growth.
- Support fundraising activities and investor readiness.
- Assist with due diligence, strategic partnerships and M&A opportunities.
- Drive budgeting, cash flow planning and financial performance.
- Deliver board reporting and strategic financial insights.
- Challenge assumptions and provide data-driven commercial advice.
- Support the Finance Manager with strategic oversight and mentorship.
What We're Looking For
✔ Previous experience as a CFO or Fractional CFO.
✔ Strong startup, scale-up or venture-backed company experience.
✔ Exceptional commercial finance and FP&A capability.
✔ Proven experience supporting fundraising, investor relations and board reporting.
✔ Financial modelling and strategic planning expertise.
✔ Experience working directly with founders and executive teams.
✔ Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments.
✔ Ability to influence business decisions through commercial insight.
Highly Desirable
- AI, SaaS or FinTech experience.
- Series A or Series B growth experience.
- M&A or strategic transaction exposure.
- Experience preparing businesses for investment or exit.
