About the Role
As Business Operations & Finance Manager, you will independently manage our operational, financial, and commercial processes. You operate with a high degree of autonomy, proactively identify bottlenecks, and execute solutions in a pragmatic, structured manner.
Responsibilities
1. Finance Operations & Controlling
- Day-to-Day Finance: End-to-end execution of invoicing, vendor payments, expense management, and bank accounts.
- Accounting & Closing: Ownership of the monthly close process in close collaboration with our external bookkeeper/tax advisor.
- Financial Planning: Maintaining cash flow models, budget vs. actuals, and unit economics.
2. Commercial and Strategic Support
- Marketing & Social Media: Managing our LinkedIn channel
- Strategy: Conducting market/competitor research.
3. Operations, IT & Office Management
- Systems & Tools: User and vendor management (Google Workspace, Wrike, 1Password) and simplifying workflows using AI tools.
- Data Handling: Data structuring and cleanup
- Office & Team: Office administration, managing vendors (cleaning, facility management), handling team contracts and organizing team events/retreats.
- Special Projects: Handling ad-hoc projects (e.g., competitor research, event organization) and preparing board materials.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in Operations, Finance, BD, or Consulting (ideally in an early-stage startup or SaaS environment).
- Financial Acumen: Knowledge of day-to-day finance operations, budgeting, and reporting.
- Tool Tech-Savviness: Advanced skills in Google Workspace/Excel, modern CRMs, Wrike, and AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT).
- Languages: Fluent German and professional working English (both written and spoken).
Mindset & Working Style
- Extreme Ownership: Proactive by default, self-structured, and capable of executing tasks completely independently.
- Adaptability: Able to seamlessly context-switch between financial modeling, marketing work, and hands-on office tasks on the same day.
- Domain Interest: Passion for Climate Tech / Renewable Energy is a strong plus.
