Metrail Construction is a leading specialist bridge repair, waterproofing and expansion joint contractor delivering nationally significant infrastructure projects for National Highways, local authorities and Tier 1 contractors.
We are seeking an ambitious Business Operations Manager to work directly with the Managing Director and help drive the next stage of our growth.
The Role
You will oversee the day-to-day running of our Head Office while supporting operational delivery across the business. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for business operations, compliance, office management, recruitment support and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Managing Director with the day-to-day running of the business.
- Coordinate operational activities across multiple contracts.
- Produce weekly KPI and operational reports.
- Improve business systems and office processes.
- Manage office facilities, suppliers and insurance renewals.
- Coordinate travel, accommodation and logistics.
- Maintain compliance portals, accreditations and ISO records.
- Coordinate HSEQ training and the company training matrix.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and HR administration.
- Liaise with project managers and senior leadership to ensure efficient business operations.
Essential Experience
- Previous Office, Business or Operations Management experience.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Experience
Construction, highways or civil engineering; compliance and ISO systems; fleet management; recruitment; project coordination; commercial awareness; process improvement.
