Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Overview:
A growing, multi-entity healthcare organization is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead all aspects of finance and accounting while serving as a key member of the executive leadership team. This role is responsible for developing financial strategy, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, revenue cycle performance, reimbursement optimization, internal controls, treasury, compliance, and operational finance. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of executive leadership, healthcare finance expertise, and a hands-on approach to driving financial performance and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide executive leadership for all finance and accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, revenue cycle, reimbursement, tax, compliance, purchasing, and internal controls.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives that support organizational growth, operational efficiency, and long-term financial sustainability.
- Lead the annual operating, capital, and cash budgeting process, while developing long-range financial plans, forecasts, and financial models to support business decisions.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
- Monitor financial performance through KPI reporting, dashboards, and variance analysis, providing actionable recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.
- Direct revenue cycle strategy by optimizing collections, reimbursement, cash flow, and key performance metrics while identifying opportunities to improve financial performance.
- Oversee reimbursement analysis, government funding, grant compliance, and other healthcare-related financial programs to maximize organizational revenue and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead financial planning initiatives, including profitability analysis, service line evaluations, capital planning, and expansion opportunities.
- Develop, implement, and strengthen financial policies, internal controls, and business processes to improve operational efficiency and safeguard organizational assets.
- Serve as the primary financial liaison to the Board of Directors, executive leadership, external auditors, banking partners, and regulatory agencies.
- Oversee external audits, tax reporting, financial compliance, and regulatory filings while ensuring timely completion of all reporting requirements.
- Manage treasury operations, including cash management, banking relationships, liquidity planning, and financial risk management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional growth.
- Partner cross-functionally with Human Resources, Operations, Information Technology, and other departments to support payroll, benefits administration, strategic initiatives, and enterprise-wide financial objectives.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems, reporting tools, automation initiatives, and process improvements to enhance reporting capabilities and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience, including executive-level responsibility.
- Strong background in healthcare finance, reimbursement, revenue cycle, budgeting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, financial planning, and treasury management.
- Experience leading multi-entity or complex organizational finance functions.
- Demonstrated success developing financial strategy, driving operational improvements, and supporting executive decision-making.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with experience presenting to executive leadership and Boards of Directors.
- Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to lead organizational change, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
