Position Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with deep experience in the construction industry to lead our financial operations and drive long-term growth. This executive will serve as a key member of the leadership team, providing financial insight, operational guidance, and strategic direction to support the company’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting
• Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals and growth initiatives
• Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections
• Oversee job costing, project accounting, and revenue recognition specific to construction projects
• Manage banking relationships, financing strategies, and capital structure
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific financial requirements
• Lead risk management efforts, including contract review, insurance, and bonding capacity
• Optimize financial systems, processes, and internal controls to improve efficiency and scalability
• Mentor and develop the finance and accounting team
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA and/or CPA preferred)
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a strong background in the construction industry required
• Proven expertise in job costing, WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project-based financial management
• Experience working with contractors, developers, or construction firms of similar size and complexity
• Strong knowledge of financial planning, analysis, and strategic modeling
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Experience with ERP systems and construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Procore)
Preferred Experience:
• Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-state construction operations
• Background in mergers & acquisitions, scaling organizations, or private equity-backed environments
• Familiarity with bonding, lien laws, and construction-specific financial risk management
Compensation & Benefits:
• Base salary: $170-220k
