A well-established, community bank is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned banking executive to play a critical role in shaping the institution's financial strategy, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and long-term growth.
The CFO serves as a key advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive management team, providing leadership across finance, accounting, treasury, investment management, asset/liability management, regulatory reporting, strategic planning, budgeting, and corporate governance initiatives.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will be a proven financial executive with significant experience in the banking industry and a demonstrated ability to lead complex financial organizations in a highly regulated environment. This individual will collaborate closely with executive leadership and the Board to support strategic initiatives, manage risk, and ensure the institution maintains a safe, sound, and profitable operating environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the executive management team and contribute to organizational strategy and long-term planning.
- Lead all accounting, finance, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, including Call Reports and other required filings.
- Chair the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) and provide expertise in interest rate risk, liquidity management, capital planning, and investment portfolio administration.
- Develop and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Manage external audit relationships and ensure compliance with GAAP, banking regulations, and internal controls.
- Participate in key Board and management committees.
- Evaluate industry trends, emerging technologies, and strategic opportunities to enhance organizational performance and shareholder value.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience within financial services, community banking, bank regulation, or a closely related industry.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, regulatory reporting, investments, treasury management, asset/liability management, and bank financial operations.
- Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and banking compliance requirements.
- Proven experience working with executive leadership teams, Boards of Directors, auditors, and regulators.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic planning, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
