Job description:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial planning, management, and reporting functions. As a key member of the leadership team, you will drive financial strategy, oversee risk management, and ensure the organization’s financial health aligns with our growth objectives. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping sustainable business practices, fostering innovation in financial services, and guiding organizational success through expert financial stewardship.
Duties
- Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational goals, growth initiatives, and long-term shareholder value
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, cash flow management, capital allocation, and working capital optimization
- Lead capital raising, financing, banking relationships, investor relations, and equity, debt, and alternative funding initiatives
- Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, taxation, and statutory filings
- Ensure accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, forecasts, KPIs, and executive reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards
- Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, internal controls, governance practices, and reporting systems across business units and legal entities
- Lead financial analysis, profitability assessments, pricing, variance analysis, scenario planning, and ROI analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Manage liquidity, credit facilities, debt, cash forecasting, collections, supplier payments, and other treasury and working capital activities
- Oversee financial, tax, payroll, and regulatory compliance for Canada and U.S.
- Lead audit activities and maintain relationships with auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, insurers, legal counsel, and regulatory authorities
- Identify and manage financial, operational, compliance, and business risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
- Lead financial due diligence, valuations, acquisitions, investments, expansion initiatives, capital projects, and other strategic transactions
- Provide financial leadership for IPO readiness, investor engagement, fundraising, due diligence, and other capital-market activities
- Oversee ERP, accounting, reporting, inventory, and financial technology systems while driving automation and process improvements
- Lead inventory, asset management, costing, purchasing, valuation, and financial controls to improve accuracy, profitability, and working capital
- Monitor production costs, margins, labour, freight, capital expenditures, and operating expenses and identify opportunities to improve profitability
- Provide financial leadership for sales, marketing, pricing, commercial agreements, procurement, RFPs, contracts, and strategic partnerships
- Lead financial planning and oversight for property acquisitions, equipment purchases, construction, facility expansions, renovations, and other capital investments
- Lead grant, subsidy, government funding, and SR&ED initiatives, including applications, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and financial management
- Develop financial strategies and scalable controls supporting multi-location, multi-entity, and Canadian and U.S. operations
- Develop and monitor organizational KPIs, departmental budgets, performance dashboards, and accountability frameworks
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans, operational priorities, financial targets, and growth initiatives
- Provide financial and operational leadership across Finance, Accounting, IT, Operations, Sales, Marketing, HR, Production, Logistics, Procurement, and other business functions
- Lead, mentor, and develop Finance, Accounting, IT, and other assigned teams while promoting accountability, compliance, and operational excellence
- Support the Board of Directors through financial reporting, strategic analysis, governance reporting, presentations, and executive financial advice
- Build and maintain relationships with investors, lenders, government agencies, suppliers, customers, professional advisors, and other key stakeholders
- Continuously identify opportunities for automation, cost reduction, process improvement, stronger controls, scalability, and improved financial performance
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- CPA, CMA, or CGA designation from BC
- Bachelor's in Accounting or related field.
- Proven experience in corporate finance, accounting, or senior financial leadership roles with a focus on strategic growth
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing advantageous deals and partnerships
- Extensive knowledge of risk management practices within the context of financial services
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire teams and foster organizational excellence
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in account reconciliation and budgeting processes
- Familiarity with business development strategies that drive revenue expansion
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate insights clearly to stakeholders
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $140,000-$150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Work schedule:
- Full-time: Monday-Fridays
- Mornings, Days, evenings shifts or weekend shifts based on operational requirements.
- Shift times may vary depending on business requirements.
