YES Energy is a leading renewable energy platform delivering end-to-end energy solutions across the National Electricity Market. They develop, build, own, operate and optimise solar and battery assets while supplying energy to commercial and industrial customers under their retail licence. As they continue their growth journey, they are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their Executive Leadership Team and play a key role in shaping the future of the business.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO will provide strategic financial leadership, commercial insight and governance oversight across the organisation. As a trusted adviser to the CEO and Board, you will help drive sustainable growth, support key investment and funding initiatives, oversee financial performance, and ensure robust governance and risk management frameworks are maintained across the group.
This is a rare opportunity to influence strategy at the highest level while partnering closely with executive leadership, lenders, investors, funding partners and key external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing strategic financial leadership to support long-term growth and business performance
- Partnering with the CEO, CCO and Executive Leadership Team to deliver commercial and financial objectives
- Advising the Board and executive team on financial strategy, risk management and key business decisions
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning across the organisation.
- Monitoring financial performance and identifying opportunities to enhance profitability and sustainable growth
- Overseeing treasury, cash flow, funding arrangements and capital management strategies
- Building and maintaining relationships with banks, investors, financiers and professional advisers
- Evaluating strategic opportunities, investments, major commercial initiatives and capital allocation decisions
- Ensuring robust financial governance, compliance frameworks and internal controls are maintained
- Overseeing statutory reporting, taxation obligations, audits and regulatory compliance requirements
- Driving continuous improvement across finance systems, reporting capability and business processes
- Leading and developing the finance function through the Group Finance Manager, fostering a high-performing culture
- Presenting financial results, forecasts and strategic insights to the Board and key stakeholders
- Supporting enterprise risk management and providing commercial leadership on funding and growth initiatives
About You
You are a commercially astute finance executive who combines strategic thinking with strong financial discipline. You are comfortable operating in a dynamic environment, influencing key stakeholders and contributing to complex business decisions.
To be successful, you will ideally possess:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline, together with CA or CPA accreditation
- Significant experience in a senior financial leadership role such as CFO, Finance Director or Head of Finance
- Experience partnering with CEOs, Boards and executive leadership teams to drive strategic and commercial outcomes
- Deep technical expertise across financial reporting, forecasting, complex transactions, financial control frameworks, accounting standards, treasury, tax, governance and regulatory compliance requirements
- Experience driving continuous improvement across finance systems, reporting capability, policies, procedures, governance frameworks and business processes
- Experience in capital raising, treasury management, project finance, infrastructure funding or related financial disciplines
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with lenders, investors, auditors and external stakeholders
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex financial matters into clear commercial insights
- Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities or other capital-intensive industries will be highly regarded
