Entrepreneur in Residence Business Operations & Growth
Location: Dehradun | Full-time, in-office
Company: BeginBird
Experience: 3–7 years
Reports directly to: Founder
About BeginBird
BeginBird is a design-led consumer brand building original products around play, creativity and self-expression. Over the past year, we have launched and scaled products across our own website, Amazon and emerging retail channels.
We are now entering our next phase: expanding our portfolio of original products, strengthening our operating systems and building BeginBird into a large, globally relevant consumer brand.
We are looking for an exceptionally driven generalist to work closely with the founder and take ownership of some of the company’s most important functions.
The Role
This is not a conventional operations role.
As Entrepreneur in Residence, you will operate as the founder’s closest execution partner and take end-to-end ownership of business operations, supply chain, new channel development and cross-functional projects.
Your primary mandate will be to create a reliable operating engine behind the business. Over time, the scope can expand based on your strengths and the company’s needs.
You will be expected to identify problems independently, create solutions and ensure that things actually get completed without requiring constant follow-ups.
What You Will Own
Business Operations- Lead day-to-day operations across inventory, order fulfilment, warehousing and logistics
- Create systems for demand planning, inventory allocation and replenishment
- Track operational metrics and identify problems before they affect sales or customers
- Improve processes, turnaround times, accuracy and operating costs
- Coordinate across internal teams, vendors, warehouses and external partners
Supply Chain and Product Execution- Manage manufacturers, suppliers and packaging partners in India and overseas
- Own production timelines, purchase orders, costing, quality checks and delivery schedules
- Work with the product and creative teams to take new products from concept to commercial launch
- Develop alternate vendors and reduce supply-chain concentration and execution risk
- Negotiate commercial terms while maintaining strong vendor relationships
Business Development and New Channels- Lead expansion into marketplaces, quick commerce, retail and distribution partnerships
- Identify and evaluate new revenue opportunities
- Own partner outreach, negotiations, onboarding and ongoing performance
- Build business cases for new channels and take successful experiments to scale
- Support potential international expansion and new market testing
Founder’s Office and Special Projects- Work directly with the founder on the company’s highest-priority problems
- Convert strategic discussions into clear plans, owners and deadlines
- Drive cross-functional projects that do not sit neatly within one department
- Build dashboards and review mechanisms for company-wide execution
- Assist with hiring, team accountability and organisational planning
- Support fundraising, investor reporting and strategic analysis when required
What Success Looks Like
Within the first six months, you should be able to:
- Run core business operations with minimal founder intervention
- Establish clear systems for inventory, procurement, production and fulfilment
- Improve accountability and execution across internal teams and external partners
- Launch or meaningfully expand at least two new sales channels or partnerships
- Bring greater predictability to new product development and production
- Become a trusted thought partner who can independently own important business decisions
Who We Are Looking For
You may be a strong fit if you:
- Have 3–7 years of experience in a startup, consumer business, marketplace, consulting firm or founder’s office
- Have previously owned projects end-to-end rather than only contributing to one part of them
- Are highly structured but comfortable operating in an imperfect, fast-changing environment
- Can move easily between strategy, spreadsheets, vendor calls and on-ground execution
- Are commercially sharp and comfortable working with numbers
- Communicate clearly and follow through reliably
- Take ownership without waiting for detailed instructions
- Have strong judgment and know when to act independently and when to escalate
- Want to build a company, not merely perform a predefined job
Experience in D2C, ecommerce, consumer products, supply chain, marketplaces or manufacturing will be especially valuable.
An MBA is welcome but not required. Evidence of ownership and execution matters much more than pedigree.
This Role May Not Be Right for You If
- You require a highly defined job description and fixed daily routine
- You prefer managing through meetings rather than getting into execution yourself
- You are uncomfortable being accountable for outcomes
- You need repeated follow-ups to close tasks
- You are looking primarily for a remote or low-intensity role
- You want an impressive title without the ambiguity and pressure of an early-stage business
Why Join BeginBird
This is a high-ownership, leadership-track role for someone who wants to help build and scale a consumer company from the inside. You will work directly with the founder and gain hands-on exposure across operations, product development, supply chain, new channels and company strategy.
The fixed compensation will be competitive for an early-stage company, although it may not match the highest packages offered by larger organisations. For someone who demonstrates strong ownership and becomes a key part of the leadership team, there will also be an opportunity to earn meaningful ESOPs.
This role is ideal for someone looking for accelerated learning, substantial responsibility and the opportunity to grow with the company over the long term.
How to Apply
Please send your CV along with concise answers to the following questions at kabir@beginbird.com
- What is the most difficult project you have independently owned from start to finish?
- Describe one situation where you inherited a messy process and made it significantly more reliable.
- If a fast-growing consumer brand repeatedly runs out of its best-selling products while holding excess stock of slower products, how would you diagnose and solve the problem?
- Why do you want to join an early-stage consumer company in an operator role?
- What are your current compensation, expected compensation, notice period and willingness to relocate to Dehradun?
- Please keep your responses specific. We value clear evidence of ownership, speed and problem-solving over generic statements.
