Sales Operations Manager
Houston, TX | Full-time | Reports to VP of Sales and Marketing
About the Role
We're seeking a data-driven Sales Operations Manager to serve as the analytical and operational engine behind our sales and marketing efforts. This role uniquely combines traditional sales operations — reporting, forecasting, and process improvement — with commercial and marketing intelligence, including customer segment strategy, digital campaign analysis, and website performance.
If you're excited about using AI tools and scripting to automate reporting and analytical workflows while equipping leadership with the intelligence they need to act with confidence, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
What You'll Do
Commercial Strategy & Market Intelligence
- Partner with leadership to shape and activate segment growth strategies using customer insights, market intelligence, and RFQ trends
- Continuously scan the market for emerging trends, competitive moves, and changing customer needs across OEM, distribution, end user, and service segments
- Translate market findings into digestible summaries for leadership and identify new revenue opportunities
- Mine RFQ data to identify win/loss patterns, pricing gaps, and segment-level trends
- Support pricing analysis, identifying anomalies, margin trends, and competitive positioning
Sales Operations & Cross-Functional Execution
- Manage departmental reporting, sales forecasting, budget development, and revenue goal assignment at the customer and rep levels
- Implement and manage CRM tools to maximize opportunities and enhance customer relationships and experience
- Monitor sales performance and customer feedback to identify gaps and drive improvements in product offering, pricing, or process
- Partner with sales, marketing, and operations teams to support product lifecycle activities, from launch execution through performance review
Marketing & Digital Performance
- Analyze Google Ads and SEO campaign performance to improve spend efficiency, keyword targeting, and conversion rates
- Monitor website analytics and user behavior, surfacing actionable recommendations for improving inbound lead quality and conversion
Automation & AI
- Create and manage automation tools, including AI tools and scripting, to increase efficiency across sales, marketing, and reporting workflows
- Identify manual, repetitive reporting and analytical tasks and build AI-enabled or scripted solutions to replace them
What You'll Bring
Skills & Competencies
- Solid business acumen with an understanding of financial forecasting
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools for analysis, summarization, or workflow automation
- Technical aptitude with CRM, ERP, and database tools, along with Excel, PowerPoint, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and SEO tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc.)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, concise narratives for non-technical audiences
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent level of professional experience
Why This Role
This position sits at the intersection of sales operations, marketing intelligence, and automation — an opportunity to shape commercial strategy while building the AI-enabled tools and processes that will define how the organization runs going forward.
Ready to bring data-driven clarity to sales and marketing strategy? We'd love to hear from you.
