The Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC) is seeking an experienced financial leader to serve as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), guiding the organization's financial strategy and operations at a pivotal time of growth. Reporting directly to and partnering closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO will serve as a trusted thought partner and integral member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), helping shape and deliver on ASNC's mission and strategic priorities. This role champions the integration of sound business analytics, data-driven decision-making, and process automation — modernizing legacy financial systems to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility across the organization.
This is an outstanding opportunity to drive positive change in a critically important, mission-driven organization, touching hundreds of thousands of lives each year.
ASNC operates a complex, diversified financial model with approximately $34 million in annual revenue, generated primarily through Medicaid and commercial insurance reimbursement, complemented by approximately $3 million in annual philanthropic support. The CFO will play a critical role in optimizing this model, strengthening revenue cycle performance, evaluating service-line economics, and ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the organization.
The CFO directly supervises the Accounting Manager, Revenue Cycle Manager, Finance Manager, and Director of Property and Facilities, and is accountable for the performance, development, and coordination of their respective teams. The broader finance/accounting team comprises a total of 10 staff. The Property and Facility Management team has six additional staff.

Financial Systems, Technology, Compliance & Reporting
- Manage relationships with audit firms for annual financial statement and 401(k) audits.
- Leverage ASNC's financial technology stack —NetSuite (ERP), Paycom (payroll/HR), and Power BI — to drive automation, data integrity, and real-time visibility.
- Manage cash accounts, endowment funds, and investment oversight.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, FASB, 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance), and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures aligned with state licensing and accreditation standards.
- Oversee BI dashboards providing leadership and the Board with real-time visibility into financial performance and KPIs.
- Manage banking relationships and cash management to maximize resources.

About Us
Founded in 1970, the Autism Society of North Carolina (ASNC) was formed by a group of parents who refused to accept that their children with autism should be unreachable or excluded from school and community life. They founded ASNC to share information, support one another, and improve the lives of all children with autism across the state — laying the groundwork for the services and supports that families and individuals rely on today.
ASNC has 13 locations throughout the state and serves all 100 of NC's counties. In 2025, ASNC provided direct support to more than 65,000 individuals, while an additional 385,000 learned how to support individuals with autism through outreach efforts. ASNC serves individuals at all ages and levels of support needs — and sustaining that scale and impact is central to the work the CFO will help lead.
