Chief Financial Officer – PE-Backed Growth Company

We are partnering with a private equity-backed, $90M+ revenue services organization in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to identify a hands-on, strategic Chief Financial Officer.
The company is entering its next phase of growth through a combination of organic expansion and strategic acquisitions and is looking for a CFO who has successfully operated within a PE-backed environment and understands the pace, reporting expectations, accountability, and value-creation focus that comes with private equity ownership.
This executive will report directly to the CEO and lead the full finance organization, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, financial reporting, systems, M&A support, and post-acquisition integration.
Key Responsibilities
• Own monthly close and accurate three-statement financial reporting
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, working capital, and KPI reporting
• Prepare board, lender, and private equity sponsor reporting
• Manage financial covenants, banking relationships, and liquidity
• Build scalable financial processes, controls, and reporting infrastructure
• Oversee job costing and percent-of-completion accounting
• Partner closely with operations on margins, pricing, profitability, and performance
• Support M&A diligence and lead financial integration of acquired businesses
• Drive ERP, systems, and technology improvements
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team
Ideal Background
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Current or prior CFO, VP Finance, Controller, or similar senior finance leadership experience
• Strong preference for candidates who have served as a senior finance leader within a PE-backed portfolio company
• Experience working directly with PE sponsors, boards, and lenders
• Track record of helping scale a lower-middle-market business through organic growth and/or M&A
• Construction, contracting, landscaping, field services, or other multi-location service experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, POC accounting, treasury, and cash flow management
• Experience with ERP implementations or significant financial systems upgrades
• Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with a hands-on operating style
