Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
The Role
CoreWise is looking for a Chief Sales Officer to lead the strategy and relationships behind our growth.
We help companies make better decisions about their people through recruiting, workforce strategy, assessments and leadership coaching.
Those decisions have real consequences.
When the right person lands in the right role, a business becomes stronger. Teams work better. Morale improves. Leaders gain capacity. Companies become more productive and profitable.
And on the other side of that decision is a person whose career, family and day-to-day life can change because they found a place where their strengths fit.
As Chief Sales Officer, you will build the strategy and relationships that allow CoreWise to create more of those outcomes.
What You’ll Own
You will:
- Set and lead CoreWise’s sales and business development strategy.
- Build relationships with CEOs, owners, COOs and other senior business leaders.
- Lead key business development opportunities and strategic client conversations.
- Determine where CoreWise should focus its commercial energy and which opportunities deserve attention.
- Build a healthy pipeline and forecasting cadence leadership can rely on.
- Establish clear qualification, follow-up and opportunity-management practices.
- Create strong CRM expectations and accountability.
- Develop strategic partnerships and referral channels.
- Identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships where CoreWise can create additional value.
- Partner with marketing to align positioning, market intelligence and sales activity.
- Work with recruiting and client delivery so growth supports strong outcomes for both clients and candidates.
- Evaluate opportunities through the lens of fit, revenue potential, profitability and long-term value.
- Build the sales processes and infrastructure needed to support future growth.
- Help determine how and when the sales organization should expand.
- Bring the voice of the market into broader company decisions as a member of the leadership team.
Why This Work Matters
People problems eventually become business problems.
The wrong hire can affect productivity, morale, retention, customer experience and profitability.
The right hire can change the trajectory of a team.
The same is true of leadership. When people understand their strengths, managers lead better, teams work better together and businesses are more capable of growing without losing the people who made that growth possible.
CoreWise exists to help businesses make those decisions well.
The CSO is responsible for building a growth strategy that gives us the opportunity to do that for more companies.
The Autonomy to Lead
You’ll work directly with the CEO and have meaningful influence over how CoreWise approaches the market, where we focus and how the sales function develops.
You’ll also stay close to the relationships driving the business.
That proximity matters.
The person shaping growth should hear directly from business owners about what is changing, what is hurting and what they are trying to accomplish.
You’ll have the autonomy to use that information, challenge assumptions and help determine what CoreWise does next.
What We’re Looking For
You understand how people decisions affect the rest of a business.
You can see the relationship between hiring and productivity, turnover and profitability, leadership and morale.
You can also move comfortably between strategy and execution, creating structure without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
You should bring:
- 10+ years of progressive B2B sales, business development or commercial leadership experience.
- Senior-level experience at the Director, VP, Head of Sales, CSO or comparable level.
- A strong history of developing significant business relationships.
- Experience working directly with CEOs, owners and executive leadership teams.
- Strong commercial and financial judgment.
- Experience building sales strategy, forecasting discipline and repeatable processes.
- The ability to evaluate opportunities through both a growth and profitability lens.
- Executive presence and the ability to navigate complex business dynamics.
- A consultative approach built around understanding before recommending.
- Strong emotional intelligence and communication skills.
- A meaningful professional network and the ability to continue expanding it.
- The ability to create accountability while maintaining trust.
- Comfort operating with significant autonomy.
Experience in manufacturing, engineering, financial services, banking, professional services or other relationship-driven B2B environments is particularly relevant.
A strong Louisiana network is highly valuable.
How We Lead
Our values are:
- Be in Service
- Be Adaptable
- Fierce Conversations
- Growth Oriented
- Have Fun
We believe good leadership starts with understanding people well enough to know what they are good at, where they fit and how their strengths complement the people around them.
We value leaders who share credit, own mistakes, tell the truth with care and are willing to change course when the facts change.
As Chief Sales Officer, you will help carry those principles into how CoreWise grows.
Location & Travel
CoreWise is a remote-first company, and this role must be based in Louisiana.
Our preference is for candidates connected to South Louisiana, particularly Baton Rouge, New Orleans, the Northshore, Lafayette and surrounding markets.
Travel is expected up to 25% of the time, primarily for client relationships, strategic opportunities and business development.
You’ll have autonomy over your schedule and how you manage those relationships.
Compensation
Starting base salary: $125,000
The compensation package also includes:
- A defined performance-based base salary increase to $150,000.
- An annual leadership bonus of up to 25% of then-current base salary, tied to company profitability and leadership performance.
The compensation structure is designed to align this role with the long-term health and success of CoreWise.
Benefits
CoreWise offers full-time employees:
- Medical insurance, with CoreWise contributing 50% of the employee-only medical premium.
- Dental and vision coverage.
- SIMPLE IRA with a dollar-for-dollar employer match up to 3%, subject to plan eligibility.
- Accrued paid time off.
- Company-paid holidays.
- Cell phone reimbursement for eligible roles.
- Company-provided computer and equipment.
Why CoreWise
This role gives you the opportunity to grow a business by helping other businesses become better places to work.
The result can be a stronger company for the owner, a healthier team for the people already there and the right opportunity for someone whose career changes because they finally landed in the right seat.
You’ll have the autonomy to shape how those relationships are built and the influence to determine where CoreWise focuses next.
If you want a sales leadership role where growth has a human outcome attached to it, we would like to meet you.
