Insurance Broker is looking for its Chief Financial Officer. This role will also be involved in the coordination of legal and compliance aspects.

Client with offices in Toronto and Calgary is the Group entity responsible for commercialization and service across the Americas. It mainly operates as an insurance seller of health coverage products for corporates, individual expatriates, international students and travelers, and as a Third-Party Administrator for health insurance related claims.
The Role
The purpose of a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is to lead our Finance Team, and to provide comprehensive, strategic financial information to our leadership team. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will report directly to our CEO.
The CFO will be relied upon to provide timely and meaningful monthly financial reporting, assist with the analysis of growth opportunities in foreign markets, prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts and provide insight into the ongoing strategic planning objectives for the organization.
The position holder is mainly expected to deliver both to the CEO of Company Americas, to local management and to the shareholders the following outcomes:
- Management of the adequate financial and accounting processes:
- review and, if need be, recommendation for improvement, of the financial and accounting procedures and policies: revenue and expenses recognition, follow up and recognition of cash (insurer’s / own cash), balance sheet presentation;
- ensure cash management is performed according to the Group rules and professional best practices;
- check compliance with the accounting standards, and with local financial regulations;
- review of accounting, financial, cash management and reporting IT tools;
- ensure the implementation of, and compliance with, proper spending rules within the frame of the wider group rules;
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, financial advisors, tax administration and other third parties related to finance and administration of the company
- Present reports to senior executives, shareholders and Board members:
- Pluriannual financial business plans and yearly budget; recurring reforecast;
- monthly, quarterly and yearly consolidation of accounts;
- monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting sent to the MSH group’s management, to shareholders (including the Group reporting), and when need be to external auditors, in relation to all financial related information: budget, forecasts, management reporting (including headcount and litigation related provisions), financial accounts, cash management, impairment tests…;
- ad hoc analysis of the business development, profitability profile and cash management outcome of the subsidiaries
- Contribution to acquisitions and local development from the financial standpoint, within the frame of the acquisition policies and procedures of Group:
- financial analysis of the target performance;
- review of the business plan, analysis of value and financial support to the various steps of the negotiation;
- supervision of financial due diligences;
- Management of tax related issues:
- Ensure all tax reports are delivered in due course and adequate form, and that all relevant taxes are acquitted
- Optimize, within the frame of relevant regulation, tax incurred by the group companies;
- Pluriannual financial business plans and yearly budget; recurring reforecast;
- Ability to manage / coordinate the non-financial aspects of administration:
- Legal
- Risk and compliance
- Main place of work: Toronto with travels to Calgary
The Skills:
- MBA in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field, and/or CPA
- Finance / Administration / Controlling experience (5/10 years+) including audit / controlling, in Canada
- M&A experience would be an add-on –ideally both in Corporate environment and in Transaction Services in a Big4 firm
- Experience (including onsite) within international group with significant involvement in Canada, in services business sector environment
- Knowledge of insurance sector
- Reporting / Systems expertise
- International profile / ability to adapt to different contexts and cultures / fluent English / knowledge of French is a plus
- Ability to manage a team
- Ability to work highly independently
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to create and implement new processes and procedures clearly and strategically

Additional Notes:
- The hours for this position are 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Flexibility in hours is available
- Additional hours may be required to satisfy the needs of the business
- Travel throughout North American is required for this position on a quarterly basis
- A laptop and phone will be provided.
