Chief Financial Officer | Los Angeles Area
We are partnering with a privately held, established and growing services organization in the Los Angeles area to identify its next Chief Financial Officer.
This is a hands-on CFO opportunity with a highly operational, middle-market business. The CFO will report directly to the CEO and oversee the full finance and accounting function while serving as a key partner to senior leadership on financial performance, cash management, planning and continued growth.
The ideal candidate combines a strong accounting foundation with the ability to operate commercially and strategically in an entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the finance and accounting organization, including accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting and provide meaningful analysis of business performance
- Manage treasury, liquidity, cash forecasting, working capital and banking relationships
- Maintain strong internal controls and oversee the external audit process
- Partner closely with operations to improve financial visibility, profitability and decision-making
- Lead annual planning and monitor performance against budget
- Evaluate capital investments and support disciplined capital allocation
- Oversee tax and other financial compliance matters in partnership with external advisors
- Support systems and process improvements across the finance organization
- Provide financial analysis and leadership around strategic initiatives and future growth
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
- 3+ years of CFO-level leadership experience
- CPA required
- Strong technical accounting, financial reporting and internal controls background
- Demonstrated experience managing cash flow, working capital, banking relationships and lender requirements
- Experience within a middle-market, operationally intensive business
- Background in industrial services, environmental services, transportation, logistics, construction, manufacturing or similar industries is highly attractive
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and Excel capabilities
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work closely with both executive leadership and operations
