Role Description The Deputy Chief Financial Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Hermosa Beach, CA. This position supports the CFO in overseeing financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for the company’s real estate portfolio. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing financial statements, monitoring financial performance, preparing management reports, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The Deputy CFO will collaborate with accounting, operations, and leadership teams to analyze investments, evaluate risks, and support strategic financial planning. The role also involves strengthening internal controls, optimizing processes, and contributing to compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Finance, including corporate finance principles and real estate finance.
- Demonstrated experience in Financial Planning and budgeting for multi-entity or portfolio-based organizations.
- Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting Financial Statements.
- Hands-on experience with Financial Reporting, including management reports and compliance reporting.
- Advanced Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and support decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CFA, or similar) is preferred.
- Experience in real estate or asset management environments is highly beneficial.
- Comfort with financial software, ERP systems, and spreadsheet tools (e.g., advanced Excel skills).
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with capacity to present financial insights to senior leadership.
- Proven ability to work on-site in a dynamic setting, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high ethical standards.
