1. Job Purpose
To lead the organisation’s finance function, drive financial strategy, ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory regulations, strengthen financial governance, and provide strategic financial insights to support business growth and profitability.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Financial Strategy & Leadership
Lead the overall finance function, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial management.
Develop financial strategies aligned with the organisation’s business objectives.
Provide financial insights and strategic guidance to senior management for effective business decision-making.
Monitor financial performance, profitability, cash flow and budgetary controls.
B. Accounting & Financial Reporting
Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Manage monthly and annual financial closing processes.
Ensure timely preparation of financial statements, MIS reports and management dashboards.
Establish robust accounting systems, financial controls and reporting processes.
C. Accounting Standards & Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), including Ind AS 117, and IFRS 17, wherever applicable.
Oversee the implementation and application of relevant accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
Ensure accuracy, transparency and consistency in financial reporting.
D. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
Oversee GST, Income Tax and other applicable statutory filings and compliances.
Ensure timely payment of statutory dues and submission of returns.
Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants and other professional advisors.
Monitor changes in taxation laws, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
E. Insurance Regulatory Compliance
Liaise with IRDAI and other relevant regulatory and government authorities.
Ensure adherence to applicable insurance regulations, reporting requirements and statutory guidelines.
Monitor regulatory developments and implement necessary changes in financial processes and controls.
F. Internal Controls, Risk Management & Audit
Strengthen internal financial controls, risk management frameworks and corporate governance practices.
Oversee internal and statutory audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and delegated financial authorities.
G. Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management
Partner with senior management to support business planning, growth initiatives and financial decision-making.
Present financial performance, key risks and strategic recommendations to management.
Manage relationships with auditors, regulators, consultants and other stakeholders.
Lead, mentor and develop the finance and accounting team.
3. Educational Qualification
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
Additional qualifications in finance, accounting or management will be an advantage.
4. Experience & Industry Exposure
Minimum 20–30 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting and financial management.
Experience in the BFSI sector is preferred, particularly in the insurance industry.
Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, statutory compliance, taxation, audit and financial governance.
Practical knowledge of Ind AS 117 and IFRS 17 will be highly desirable for candidates with insurance-sector exposure.
Experience in managing finance teams and interacting with senior management and regulatory authorities.
