About the job
Job Title: Business Analyst, CPQ
Experience: 7 –9 Years
Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Shift & Hours: Regular Shift
Location: Hyderabad
Role Overview:
- We run the Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) platform for a global enterprise client on Salesforce Sales Cloud and Conga CPQ, with Conga Revenue Lifecycle Management (RLM) being adopted alongside it. The platform lives in a large, shared, multi-domain Salesforce org that serves many business units with a high-volume product catalog. Our mandate is to onboard a long pipeline of commercial offerings, each with its own catalog, pricing, rules, approvals and document templates. The application is documented in a structured knowledge base, so new team members learn from feature pages and process journeys rather than from tribal memory.
The role
- You own the functional definition of every offering we onboard. You take a product or pricing owner's description of how they sell, translate it into CPQ constructs, write stories a developer or configurator can execute without coming back to you, and prove the result works with the business in UAT. Conga experience is not required to start. Prior delivery on a CPQ platform is, together with the ability to learn a new one quickly from documentation and configuration data.
What you will do
- Run offering intake workshops with commercial, pricing, legal and finance owners and capture the as-is selling process, pricing model and approval paths.
- Model each offering into CPQ terms: product hierarchy, bundles and options, attributes, price lists and price list items, pricing and constraint rules, approval rules, quote and agreement templates.
- Write user stories with testable acceptance criteria, including data readiness, migration and rollback notes.
- Analyze existing configuration and data (price lists, rules, templates, field usage) to find reuse before anything new is created.
- Prepare UAT scenarios and test data, run UAT sessions, triage defects and separate configuration gaps from real bugs.
- Keep the feature documentation of every touched area current as part of each story's definition of done.
- Work daily with the technical lead, CPQ configurators, data engineer and QA, and represent the business view in design reviews.
Must have:
- 7+ years as a business analyst or functional consultant on enterprise applications, 3+ of them on any CPQ platform: Salesforce CPQ, Salesforce Industries (Vlocity) CPQ, Oracle CPQ, SAP CPQ, PROS, Zilliant, DealHub, Zuora or Apttus/Conga.
- Working knowledge of quote-to-cash: catalog structure, bundles, attribute-based configuration, list and tiered pricing, discounting, approval matrices, contract generation.
- Proven ability to read configuration data and write precise, unambiguous requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Comfortable with data: advanced Excel, and SOQL or SQL for your own analysis.
- Agile delivery tooling (Jira, Azure DevOps or similar) and documentation tooling (Confluence or similar); strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder management in English.
- Salesforce platform literacy at Administrator level: objects, fields, record types, flows, permission sets.
Good to have:
- Conga CPQ or Conga RLM exposure.
- Document generation tools in the Salesforce ecosystem (Conga Composer, DocuSign Gen, Nintex or similar).
- Configuration data migration between orgs (Prodly, Data Loader, scripted loads or similar).
- Salesforce Administrator or Salesforce CPQ Specialist certification.
- Pricing experience in services, subscription or project-based businesses.
- If your CPQ experience is on another platform.
