Our client is a rapidly growing, venture-backed AI technology company headquartered in Silicon Valley. As the business enters its next phase of expansion, the company is seeking an experienced and highly strategic Chief Financial Officer to join its executive team.
Job Description
Capital Formation & Investor Relations
- Head all future fundraising activities, including venture financing, growth equity, strategic investments, and structured capital solutions.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with venture capital firms, growth equity investors, sovereign wealth funds, and strategic partners.
- Partner with the CEO on fundraising strategy, investor messaging, and transaction execution.
- Develop investor presentations, financial models, and Board materials.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for investors and financing stakeholders.
Strategic Finance & Corporate Development
- Drive long-range financial planning and capital allocation strategy.
- Evaluate strategic partnerships, investments, and M&A opportunities.
- Develop scalable financial frameworks to accelerated business growth.
- Provide strategic recommendations on profitability, pricing, economics, and business model optimisation.
Global Finance Opearation
- Build a strong global finance organisation.
- Oversee accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, compliance, audit, and risk management functions.
- Implement governance structures and financial controls appropriate for a rapidly scaling international business.
- Ensure institutional-quality reporting and financial transparency.
Board & Executive Partnership
- Act as an advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Head Board reporting, KPI development, and performance management processes.
- Contribute to corporate strategy, organisational development, and growth planning.
- Partner with executive team across product, operations, and international expansion efforts.
IPO & Public Company Readiness
- Establish the financial infrastructure and governance standards required for future IPO readiness.
- Build relationships with investment banks, auditors, legal advisers, and capital markets stakeholders.
- Assess public market strategies and alternative financing pathways.
The Successful Applicant
Required Experience
- 15+ years of progressive finance experience.
- Proven experience as CFO, Deputy CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent executive finance head.
- Background within venture-backed SaaS, AI, software, marketplace, or technology companies.
- Strong track record heading institutional fundraising and investor engagement.
- In-depth knowledge of venture capital, growth equity, and capital markets.
- Experience operating in complex global and multi-entity organisations.
- Demonstrated success partnering with founders, Boards, and investors.
Preferred Experience
- Experience scaling businesses from early-stage through high-growth phases.
- Exposure to enterprise software, AI, data platforms, mobility technology, marketing technology, or related sectors.
- Established relationships across the Silicon Valley investment ecosystem.
- Expertise in international corporate structures, cross-border taxation, and global finance operations.
- Mandarin skill is a big plus.
