NOW HIRING: CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)
The Geneva School is seeking an experienced, strategic financial leader to join our senior leadership team as Chief Financial Officer.
Established in 1993, The Geneva School is a classical Christian school serving students in grades K4–12. Our mission is to inspire students to love beauty, think deeply, and pursue Christ's calling.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The CFO will steward the school's financial resources and business administration, ensuring financial integrity, prudence, transparency, and long-term sustainability.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the CFO will lead the Business Office and serve as a key financial partner to the Head of School, COO, and Board of Governors.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Strategic financial planning and long-term sustainability
• Annual operating and capital budgets
• Financial reporting, accounting, and internal controls
• Tuition, enrollment, and financial assistance analysis
• Cash management, investments, and risk oversight
• Business Office leadership and operational improvement
• Board, Finance Committee, and Advancement support
• Collaboration with senior leadership to advance Geneva's mission
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
• Significant progressive financial management experience, ideally 7–10+ years
• Senior-level experience such as CFO, Director of Finance, or Controller
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial controls
• Knowledge of nonprofit financial statements, restricted funds, and nonprofit reporting requirements
• Experience leading and developing financial or administrative personnel
CPA, MBA, or other advanced credentials are preferred. Experience in an independent school, private school, or nonprofit organization is also preferred.
