About our client
Our client is an established, purpose-led organisation delivering aged care services across Melbourne. With a strong financial foundation, the organisation is entering an important period of strategic development and is actively considering opportunities to strengthen its position through various strategic initiatives.
About the Role
This role is offered for a fixed term for 12 months. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Executive and Board, the CFO will provide strategic, commercial and operational financial leadership across the organisation.
A key priority will be assessing strategic and M&A opportunities, including robust financial modelling, valuation, due diligence and identification of potential synergies. The CFO will also drive operational efficiencies, strengthen financial disciplines and reporting, and continue to build the capability and accountability of the finance team. Sharpening the organisation’s understanding of service-level profitability, and optimising funding and revenue opportunities, will also be a focus of the role as will be developing strategies to address underperforming services while maintaining quality care.
This is a genuinely hands-on role for a finance leader who can move comfortably between strategic discussions and detailed financial analysis, providing clear commercial insight and constructive challenge as the organisation considers future opportunities.
About You
You will be a commercially astute and highly numerate finance leader with strong financial management, cashflow, forecasting and analytical capability. You will bring the judgement to evaluate M&A opportunities, challenge assumptions and translate complex financial information into clear commercial advice.
Pragmatic, collegiate and hands-on, you will be comfortable operating with autonomy and will have the credibility to work effectively with the CEO, Executive, Board and finance team. Experience in aged care will be highly regards, as will experience in a similarly complex, service-based and regulated environment.
The opportunity could suit an experienced CFO attracted to a defined-term strategic mandate, or a strong senior finance executive ready to step into their first CFO role. A four-day working week can be considered, together with significant flexibility around working arrangements.
