The CFO combines strategic leadership with personal execution, including building financial models and cash forecasts, preparing lender and investor materials, reviewing WIP schedules and reconciliations, and stepping into detailed accounting work when deadlines or staffing require it. The Controller leads daily accounting operations; the CFO owns financial integrity and represents the organizaiton to lenders, investors, auditors, and sureties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Capital formation and management: Structure, negotiate, and close corporate and project debt, equity, tax equity, and tax-credit transactions with investment leadership and advisors. Manage capital deployment, financing draws, reserves, covenants, and lender and investor relationships.
Treasury and liquidity: Own rolling 13-week cash forecasts and longer-term funding plans by entity and project. Manage banking, working capital, collections, retainage, payment controls, intercompany funding, and foreign-exchange exposure.
Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) and entity governance: Oversee financial management of LLCs, subsidiaries, special-purpose entities, and joint ventures, including capitalization, contributions, distributions, ownership interests, and operating-agreement obligations. Coordinate with counsel on entity structures; govern intercompany agreements, related-party transactions, and consolidated reporting.
Construction finance: Oversee job costing, work-in-progress (WIP), estimates at completion, cost-to-complete forecasts, change orders, and margin performance. Challenge project assumptions and review bid economics, contract terms, and major procurement commitments with operations and counsel.
Reporting and controls: Direct timely entity and consolidated reporting under U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), external audits, and technical accounting decisions. Establish delegated authorities, segregation of duties, and fraud controls; resolve findings and escalate material exposures.
Tax and financial compliance: Lead tax planning and incentive qualification, documentation, and monetization with advisors. Oversee financial requirements for applicable territorial, international, and federally supported activities, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service programs, prevailing-wage records, and agency reporting.
Risk and organizational leadership: Manage financial risk, bonding capacity, and insurance with advisors. Develop finance leaders; sponsor NetSuite and reporting improvements with the Controller and information technology.
