Overview:
Smile Brands is a dominant player in the dental space and we are seeking a Revenue Operations Director to join our team. The Revenue Operations Director will provide leadership necessary to manage and optimize revenue related processes within multiple practice management systems.
Under limited supervision the Revenue Operations Director will oversee the daily revenue cycle for non-centralized locations. This may include tasks such as analyzing data to identify opportunities for improvement, implementing new processes and working with other teams to ensure that revenue goals are met. The director will ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory compliance is met; and achieve operational goals and objectives. The ideal candidate is dependable, hard-working, and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to drive efficiency and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule (days/hours): Monday - Friday Responsibilities:
Revenue Cycle Process Improvement & Optimization:

Develops a deep understanding of Revenue Cycle and Dental/Clinical Operations and the strategic goals and priorities of each

Reviews RCM processes and workflows, identifies process improvement opportunities, develops process improvement action plans, and partners with Dental Operations and RCM team members on plan execution

Evaluates current processes and identifies and proposes ways to improve processes and RCM performance across the RCM function and within each of the Company’s affiliated dental offices

Recommends and implements innovation and improvements that maximize cash flow by increasing recovery rates on outstanding claims and decreasing cost per claim.

Defines and documents scope and objectives with project sponsors across the revenue cycle management team

Fosters a culture of continuous process improvement
Learning and Development:
-
Designs and implements Revenue Cycle Management related training programs and materials for dental office staff, including new hires and ongoing education for existing staff

Conducts workshops to deliver effective training solutions and training programs that cover essential areas such as billing, coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, claim submission, denial management, and use of the practice management software as it relates to RCM

Assists with educating dental office personnel to answer patient inquiries about their dental bill, discuss services performed and how to read an Explanation of Benefits (EOB). In addition, trains team members to identify insurance billing errors and flag for correction.

Develops, maintains and delivers training programs; maintains standard operation policies and procedures in support of the revenue cycle

Assists with establishing and training offices on how to negotiate payments and arrangements with patients

Fosters a collaborative, learning-oriented environment where staff are encouraged to share knowledge and best practices
RCM Performance Monitoring and Management:

Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle efficiency, cash flow, and financial performance

Utilizes data and reports to set strategies, identifies trends and areas of opportunity to achieve monthly goals

Assists in the development, implementation, communication and coordination of revenue cycle policies and procedures throughout the organization, and insuring understanding, consistent application and compliance

Participates in workflow re-engineering to maximize cash flow by increasing recovery rate on outstanding claims and decreasing cost per claim to minimize corporate costs and increase efficiencies

Partners with offices to ensure patient account balances are accurate and refunds are issued when necessary

Works with a sense of urgency to ensure all eligible accounts are assigned to third party collection agencies

Alerts management of any concerns as it relates to, but not limited to: accuracy of account details, treating office compliance with policies, procedures and best practices

Advises and makes recommendations to management as appropriate related to matters impacting revenue cycle management and the Company’s business in general
General Leadership and Management:

Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with all internal and external customers

Delivers excellent communication and customer service when interacting with dental offices, management, team members and patients

Coordinates project activities; collaborating with project team members, develop measurable goals and monitor progress toward achievement

Prepares agendas for meetings, documents key decisions and collaborates with internal & external customers

Ensures compliance with established company and department policies and procedures

Ensures team is compliant with collection laws and department policies and procedures

Takes on other task and responsibilities as assigned to the position by its supervisor
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in a Revenue Cycle role within dental/healthcare
-
Leadership experience within Revenue Cycle or a related field
-
Strong experience in sales, negotiation, and collections
-
Ability to identify and resolve problems, such as balance grievances and call de-escalations
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.

Experience with various Practice Management Systems (PMS)
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Compensation: $125,000 - $150,000 per year About:
