We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced VP of Sales to oversee our Client's retail grocery sales division, with a specific focus on frozen food business, both Brand and Private Label. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of the retail grocery industry, and a proven track record in driving profitable sales growth. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and implementing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and achieving revenue targets.
Successful candidates MUST HAVE a strong knowledge of the retail grocery industry and category management, including experience with key players, market trends, and industry dynamics.
Key Responsibilities and Goals:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company's objectives, with a specific focus on the retail grocery industry, DSD merchandiser business, and bulk snack food/produce business.
- Drive market penetration and growth by identifying new business opportunities and establishing sales objectives, targets, and KPIs.
- Build and lead a high-performing sales team, responsible for delivering revenue targets and business objectives.
- Identify and engage with key decision-makers in retail grocery chains and other relevant channels to create strategic partnerships and secure new business opportunities.
- Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective sales operations.
Competencies Needed for Success:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a relevant field preferred. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven track record of success in sales leadership in the retail grocery industry, preferably with experience in frozen food operations and general retail sales.
- Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to build and motivate high performing sales teams.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales strategies that result in revenue growth and market expansion.
- Proven experience in managing budgets, forecasts, and sales pipelines.
- Strong proficiency in sales-related software applications and CRM systems.
