The Petroleum Products Division (PPD), of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Nunavut, plays a critical role in supporting Nunavut’s communities and economy by ensuring a reliable supply of essential fuels across the territory. Managing the logistics of purchasing, transporting, storing, and distributing fuel in one of the world’s most challenging environments, PPD is a key part of delivering essential services to residents and businesses in Nunavut

Reporting to the Comptroller of the Petroleum Products Division; the Manger, Revenue Operations is responsible for the management and coordination of revenues exceeding $250 million dollars annually. The manager oversees the revenue section to ensure revenue is safeguarded and bad debt losses are minimized. This includes ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and financial directives governing the revenue section, as well as developing, implementing, and monitoring revenue procedures and controls.

The manager is also responsible for managing and coordinating subordinate staff, overseeing efficient credit and collection activities, and resolving complex and politically sensitive issues. The role ensures appropriate controls are in place for the handling of payments, including cash, electronic transfer, credit card, and cheques. The Manager coordinates year-end revenue activities and maintains accurate customer accounts and documentation to support any request of bad debt write-offs, including evidence of reasonable collection efforts. The position works closely with the Department of Finance to finalize accounts deemed uncollectable and participates in other related duties and special projects as required.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually acquired through an undergraduate degree in business administration, finance or related field. Three (3) years of experience performing revenue and/or finance functions including one (1) year of supervisory experience. The ability to communicate in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages is an asset. Financial management and analysis experience and cash management and analysis are also considered assets.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
