fast-growing startup specializing in EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy solutions, and electrical contracting for residential, commercial, and government clients. With
$2 million in annual revenue, our goal is to scale to
$5 million+ annually, and we need a strategic financial leader to guide us there.
As a startup, we move quickly, innovate constantly, and require an agile, hands-on CFO who is comfortable wearing multiple hats. We offer a
hybrid work schedule (4 days in-office, 1 remote day per week).
Job Summary
The CFO will be responsible for
financial strategy, cost-cutting, securing funding, and optimizing cash flow to drive GGES’s growth. This role requires expertise in
construction accounting,
tax credits and incentives, and
job costing. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and
regularly meet with the company’s bookkeeper to ensure strong financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy & Growth: Develop a roadmap to scale GGES from $2M to $5M+ in annual revenue.
- Cost Optimization: Implement aggressive cost-cutting measures while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Tax Credits & Incentives: Identify and apply for construction tax credits, renewable energy incentives, and grants to improve financial positioning.
- Cash Flow & Debt Management: Monitor working capital, improve cash flow, and oversee accounts payable/receivable.
- Funding & Capital Raising: Secure loans, grants, and investment opportunities to support expansion.
- Job Costing & Project Financials: Oversee project budgets, financial forecasting, and cost control strategies.
- Profitability & Pricing Strategies: Analyze margins, optimize pricing models, and increase project profitability.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and industry financial regulations.
- Investor & Stakeholder Relations: Provide financial reports and insights to investors, lenders, and executive leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA ).
- 5+ years of experience in construction financial management or strong financial expertise with exposure to construction, electrical contracting, or renewable energy.
- Deep understanding of construction accounting, job costing, and financial planning.
- Experience applying for government grants, tax credits, and incentive programs.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks, MS 365, or similar construction financial software.
- Strong ability to secure funding, manage financial risk, and improve cash flow.
- Experience with invoice factoring, bonding, and project-based financial structures.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
