Administration Student – Business Operations Support
New Leaf is a not-for-profit social service agency located north of Newmarket, providing residential and day supports to adults with developmental disabilities. New Leaf’s mission is to provide a safe home to, and enrich the lives of, individuals with development disabilities in a unique sensory and natural environment as we assist individuals to live and work as valued members of society and the community. We endeavor to provide quality supports and services that offer a rural option to individuals with intellectual disability, dual-diagnosis, and/or other complex needs.
We have summer contract position available for a motivated Administration Student to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role is ideal for students pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Administration and Commerce, or related field. Working from New Leaf’s main office in Queensville, Ontario, the successful candidate will be assisting with a range of administrative tasks to support our finance and property management operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily activities finance department
- Assist with the implementation of new financial software.
- Assist with data entry to digitize our property information and preventative maintenance activities.
- Support projects as assigned, including an internal review of the passport processes and plan.
- Handle administrative tasks such as preparing reports, analysis and organizing documents.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support various business functions.
Education and Experience
- Must be currently enrolled in a Business-related program (Business Administration, Finance, Administration and Commerce, etc.).
Knowledge
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook Excel, Word, Power Point)
· Knowledge of the financial software SAGE is an asset
