We are seeking a Director of Business Excellence to join the Senior Management team. This dynamic and entrepreneurial spirited individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and performance management of the organization and its operating entities.
Reporting to the CEO, and in collaboration with the Business Leaders, this role will
focus on enhancing operational excellence and driving performance improvement. This role involves strategic planning, training, and coaching leaders in best in class practices, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Strategic Planning and Alignment:
Support Development and articulate overall vision, mission, and strategic objectives in collaboration with executive leadership.
Lead the development and execution of short-term and long-term strategic plans for the organization and its operating divisions.
Ensure alignment and integration of divisional strategies, objectives, and KPIs overarching strategic goals.
Work with and guide the portfolio leaders in understanding and analyzing emerging trends and expansion opportunities.
Performance Management:
Establish and implement a mature performance management framework to improve capability across the organization, including KPIs, metrics, and dashboards, to track progress against strategic objectives.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators and financial metrics to assess organizational performance and identify areas for improvement.
Provide regular performance updates and insights to executive leadership and divisional presidents to support decision-making and drive accountability.
Business Planning and Execution:
Facilitate the development of annual business plans and budgets for each operating division, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and financial targets.
Collaborate with divisional leadership teams to identify growth opportunities, mitigate risks, and optimize resource allocation to maximize value creation.
Monitor and evaluate the execution of business plans, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
Lead organizational change to improve quality, cost, cycle times and delivery.
Strategic Initiatives and Projects:
Assess and develop the overarching goals and composition of the aggregated portfolio, including defining the parameters and asset classes to be held within the group.
Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives and projects aimed at driving operational efficiency, innovation, and growth across the organization.
Partner with divisional leaders to identify and prioritize strategic projects, allocate resources, and track progress against milestones and deliverables.
Ensure effective project management practices and governance structures are in place to drive successful project outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
Serve as a key liaison between executive leadership, divisional presidents, and other stakeholders, fostering open communication and collaboration.
Communicate strategic priorities, progress, and achievements to internal and external stakeholders through presentations, reports, and other channels.
Act as a trusted advisor to divisional presidents, providing strategic guidance and support to facilitate decision-making and drive performance improvement.
Train and coach leaders to embrace strategic leadership and support continuous improvement development.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Finance, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
8+ years (traditionally) of experience in strategy, business performance management, or management consulting roles, preferably in a private equity or corporate environment.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information, identify insights, and develop actionable recommendations.
Proven track record of driving strategic planning processes, performance management initiatives, and cross-functional projects to achieve business objectives.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
Highly collaborative and results-oriented, with a passion for driving continuous improvement and organizational excellence.
