About the Role
We are a nimble, fast-growing manufacturer based in Dallas, TX, backed by a dynamic private equity firm. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Interim Financial Controller for a 3 to 5-month assignment.
This role is critical for maintaining financial continuity, refining our cost accounting processes, and partnering with plant operations during a transitional period. If you thrive in fast-paced PE environments and love digging into the details of a manufacturing floor, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Accounting Ownership: Oversee and maintain the company’s Standard Costing system, ensuring accurate bill of materials (BOM), labor, and overhead allocations.
- Month-End Close: Lead the monthly financial close process for the manufacturing plant, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for both local management and corporate PE stakeholders.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze and report on manufacturing variances (PPV, labor efficiency, usage variances) to identify operational inefficiencies and drive cost savings.
- Inventory Control: Oversee cycle counting programs, manage inventory valuation, and reconcile book-to-physical inventory.
- PE Reporting: Assist in preparing weekly and monthly financial packages, KPIs, and operational metrics required by our private equity partners.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 5+ years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- PE Background: Prior experience working within a Private Equity-backed portfolio company is a plus
- Availability: Ability to commit to the full 3–5 month duration and start immediately.
