Chief Financial OƯicer New York City family-owned real estate developer, owner and manager of a diverse range of residential and commercial properties seeks an experienced CFO to join their executive management team. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing the financial health and operations of the company’s assets. This role requires an individual who can manage both day-to-day financial activities and contribute strategically to the company’s growth and long-term success. The CFO will work closely with the CEO on financial strategy, acquisition activities, and providing solutions to enhance profitability and operational eƯiciency.
Key Responsibilities: • Oversee the financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks related to property assets, including real estate market fluctuations, investment risks, and insurance coverage.
• Partner with the CEO to develop and execute long-term financial strategies. Provide financial insight to support decision-making and drive company growth.
• Oversee financial performance of the company’s assets, including analysis of property operations, profitability, and valuation. Implement strategies to optimize asset performance and returns. • Oversee tax planning and preparation, including strategies to minimize tax liabilities. Work closely with third party tax and audit professionals.
• Manage relationships with financial institutions, secure financing and negotiate loan terms. Manage loan compliance.
• Negotiate insurance policies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop team of 10 accounting professionals. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
• Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems, including Yardi Voyager. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance eƯiciency and accuracy of financial operations.
• Manage IT initiatives and establish/maintain IT systems and controls.
• Ensure adherence to real estate industry regulations, corporate governance standards, and internal financial policies. Collaborate with legal team to manage regulatory risks. Requirements:
• CPA / MBA
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting and financial controllership experience with a real estate firm, in both residential and commercial properties.
• Strong financial analysis skills in Excel.
• Experience with Yardi or similar property management software.
